Rinnai Integrity 2635 demand hot water unit ignites, runs for a minute or 2, then flame goes out for about 20 secs then reignites and cycle continues. No error is displayed on the remote when this happens but there is a stored error code 12 logged.

Rinnai Royale IB35R ,the flame goes off once I released the press button, it wont hold on as usual

pamgee - it may be a case of not holding the ignition button in long enough ( at least 15 seconds) so that the flame failure device (Thermocouple) will get hot enough, to maintain the pilot flame and the low burner. If it fails to light and hold the first time, push the igniter button again and release it. Wait 30 seconds and try lighting it again.

In case you have misplaced the Owner's Manual, I have provided a link that you can download & print for future reference. http://www.rinnai.com.au/images/stories/operating_instructions/Heating/Flames/Royale%20Inbuilt.pdf

I hope this helped you to solve the problem ... Cheers

We have an rinnia infinity 26 instant gas hot water system which has just recently installed (2months ago). It started working fine but started to produce hot water for five minutes until today it has...

This is operated by a flow switch, when you open a hot water faucet it turns on. There is a small filter in the cold water inlet on the Rinnai located just below the cabinet on the cold water line. It will unscrew and you can clean it out after you shut off the water to the unit. Make sure there is flow through the cold water line and out the hot water line. If that gets you nowhere, you will need to connect an MC control to the unit to get the error codes. Make sure you have flow through the unit and the gas is turned on to it. You will be able to hear it trying to start as an assistant turns on the hot water while you are in front of the unit and cover off. Look through the small viewing port for any spark or flame and see if it stays on or quickly goes out. You can remove the ingiter flame rod assembly and clean off any debris stuck to it with a soft brush. Not much you can do to it. It's like a newer car, you will need a technician with proper tools and experience with these units to be able to repair it. Your installer should cover this under their warranty and any parts needed will be under Rinnai warranty.

Goodman furnuce cycling on lights, burner runs 6-12 sec, kicks out exuast fan runs, cycles through and does the same thing after 2-3 minutes, could this be the thermelacouple?

If your furnace has an ehxaust fan, your furnace does not have a thermocouple, it has a flame sensor. The flame sensor is a small metal rod that is in the burner area. It has one wire leading to it. Your problem seems to be flame sensor. If unit does not sense flame, it will kick off the gas valve.
Turn power off, take sensor out, (should be on 1/4" hex screw).. Probably some white film on sensor. Clean with steel wool, or dollar bill if don't have steel wool. Replace sensor.

Rinnai infinity standing in the shower and it suddenly goes cold for a few seconds no other water been run in the house or it goes cold and goes to a trickle then comes on again. Could the heat ex changer...

We are a bit confused by the device that you are using to heat the Hot water with- Is it an instantaneous HW heater?--
They are pressure sensitive-- Could it be, that your water pressure drops momentarily, (which causes the instantaneous heater to shut down its flame-- and you get a pulse of Cold water.)

If your hot water is a tank-- It is possible that something is cycling your hot water away-- like rinse pulses on the Washing machine)-- or your dishwasher?

Tell us more about the Rinnal Air Conditioners and what they have to do with Hot water and your SHower?

Tell us more-

Goodman GMNT furnace goes into 'lock-out'.

The brain has to have constant verification of flame. If the burner ground is corroded then you will get the condition you prescribe.

Rheem gas furnace pilot lights, but no burners or fan

If the burners do not fully ignite, the sensor will shut the furnace down. The lack of sufficient burner flame is a gas valve or gas pressure problem within the valve.
Replacing the gas valve with the original one may get you going. I surely suggest a professional service company for safety reasons and a thorough inspection. A 20 year old furnace is past it's normal life span.

RUUD heater

Sounds like a dirty flame sense rod. Be sure to shut off power before removing the rod and cleaning it with sandpaper or steel wool. Do not touch or disturb the hot surface ignitor or you may cause it to fail.

My bosch 21E (infinity style) hot water system has an intermittant fault where the flame does not appear to be able to stay on (or properly light). Once water is started to the unit I can hear the ignitor...

moisture is getting into circuit board, usaully this sealed in a jell which keeps the board protected from any kind off dust, moisture etc which would comprimise the thinking side off the unit. a bosch engineer should be able to do a diagnostics on site.
