My phone is Samsung GT-S3850.. It happened to me also.. Using your phone, go to samsungapps then search for the English Dictionary there then download it.. You must download it in your phone memory and not in your memory card to make it work..

If you already saved your configuration (in the parameter setting -> privacy -> Save my parameters) you can restore them by using the factory reset, android system will offer you to use your saved parameters (with your google account), else, you'll have to refile it, sorry

How to restore in built deleted dictionary?

You go to the dictionary menu on your phone and click download dictionary. (it will incur data charges for the internet) you will be directed to the built in browser that will go to the page samsungapps (something like that. i cant recall). then there'll dictionary choices that will be displayed. choose which one do you need. just click until that and then when you are directed to the next page click download. then once it start downloading, you can monitor the downloading progress by clicking the 3 dots "...", then choose download manager. wait for it to be completely download (will take quite long so be patient ^_-). once it finished downloading, a notification at the top of the screen will appear with a white exclamation point inside a red circle that says the download was finished. click it to view that notification and then you'll see install. click on it and exit the web browser. go back to the dictionary menu and choose the dictionary language you downloaded and click set and install. wait (won't take long this time) and here you go! the dictionary is back!

i am soo frustrated when i accidentally deleted my dictionary so i never ceased finding a way to have it back. too bad i cant find the right solution over the internet which says you have to reset your device by doing this or that etc. so i decided to find it out myself, and im happy i made it! hope this works for you too! :))

How to restore deleted dictionary in corby 2?

Easy way to restore Dictionary in Samsung GT-S3850 Corby 2

You need only:
1. Your Corby phone memory space at least 7mb (in Phone, not memory card)
2. Internet Access.

You can download dictionary from your phone Menu/Dictionary/Download a Dictionary, choose dictionary (Corby 2 Dictionary built in is English to English) then download it,.. Downloading..... Wait until the notice comes out from the top of the screen "File Downloaded", tap on notice and install, go back to your dictionary in phone menu, tap on English to English and Set, Well done.

If you already download/installed but nothing's happen, just follow the 3 steps below.

1st.
Make sure to DELETE the ".dic" file that you've download to your phone (dictionary file name contains CollinsEng*.dic) can be found/restore in "My Files/Others". It was hidden, but it can be shown and never be hidden again once you restart your phone. So you better check again and delete the file if you found it.

2nd.
You need to use the system Defualt theme.
(if you're using other/downloaded themes, go to "My Files/Themes/Defualt theme.smt" and set to change ur theme to default).

3rd.
Set your "WAP downloads defualt memory" to Phone.
(located at "Settings/Memory/Defualt memory - WAP Downloads set to Phone , not in memory card, because the dictionary need to be saved in phone)

After the 3 steps, Try again to download a dictionary.
(How to process? ...just read above)

You can revert the changes of your phone after installing dictionary.

Install dictionary Samsung L 700

hi,
Dictionary installation on Samsung SGH-L700
Maximum dictionary size recommended by producer: 60KB
Maximum dictionary size tested: not tested yet
You can often overstep the maximum size limits, so try to install the dictionary proto on your mobile even if it is larger than recommended, or it has not been tested yet. Installation procedure First of all you need to have Samsung PC Studio installed on your computer. To download it, go to Samsung Download Center and choose the model name of your mobile.
Installation using Samsung PC Studio:
  1. Connect phone to PC
  2. Run Samsung PC Studio if not running
  3. Open file manager (Click "Manage Files")
  4. Copy .jad and .jar to "Other Files" folder on phone. (You can download these files from our website)
  5. Disconnect phone and go to "Other Files", run .jad file to install and run the application.
If a message "Unsupported file format" appears, then it means that installing applications from PC is blocked in your mobile. In that case the simplest solution is to install per WAP. There are also ways to bypass this limitation and unblock the mobile. Try to search Google for eg. "L700 install jar" (witnout quotation marks) or "Samsung SGH-L700 Unsupported file format"
