Transit not starting

No glow plug light coming on my transit,. now it wont even start,. can u help,. p.s its x,reg.

The engine in this model doesnt need glow plugs, Its direct injection. If the van is not starting then it will be fir another reason. Ok, can you get a 17mm spanner and loosen the pipes onto the fuel injectors. Crank engine and see if there is fuel coming out. If not just crank it for a few minutes and see if some appears. If fuel appears, tighten pipes and crank for little while longer, see if it goes. If this doesnt work, i have a few more things to try.

How to install python 594 in a diesel

install like a regular remote start alarm. You will have to tap into the glow plug wire, and change the setting on the brain to "wait to start" for the glow plugs.

If you have not installed a remote start alarm before:
1.install the siren under the hood and run the wire through the fire wall into the cab.
2. Mount antenna at the top center of the windshield then run wire around and down to drivers floor.
3. mount shock sensor with a ziptie to the steering column (as long as the steering column doesn't move/rotate)
4. separate the wires you are going to need, from the ones you won't need.(specific per vehicle):12+, Gnd, Parking lights, IGN, IGN2, ACC, ACC2, Starter, lock, unlock, brake, glow plugs...
5. zip tie and tape off the unused wires.
6. use wire diagram and find then test the vehicle wires.
7. connect RS/Alarm to vehicle, plug in antenna and shock sensor, then attach siren.
9. now you can test the functions of the RS/Alarm,

Transit wont start, just a clicking sound when you turn the key

possible low battery power or maybe starter motor issue. you could try tapping the starter motor gently with a hammer while someone holds the key in the start position. take precautions ie gears in neutral park brake applied

Remote start wont start the car

try hitting function twice so its at level 2 code and hit the unlock button, that sends it into remote valet mode. if that isnt it make sure the valet toggle switch is on and connected

'97 chevy suburban diesel,only cranking but not starting,no security light when ignition is switched on(all other lights come),can hear clicking sound at lhs foot well,fuel pump is pumping but no...

I would start with checking the fuel flow at the filter. Twist open the bleed valve on the top of the filter while you are cranking the engine. If fuel is squirting out, then you are getting fuel past the filter. now you will check the injectors to ensure they are getting fuel. You will need a couple of wrenches to break open the line. You can start with the easies ones to access on the driver's side. Be sure you hold the injector tight while you break the line loose from the top. Just loosen it 1 or 2 turns. Crank the motor and see if you are getting fuel to the injector. If you are getting fuel to the injectors, then we have eliminated a fuel problem.

Are your glow plugs cycling correctly? Every time the 6.5 diesel prepares to start, the glow plugs will cycle. The first time the engine is turned on after it has completely cooled off, they will cycle for 10-20 sec depending on the air temp. That clicking sound bothers me like the relay switch for the glow plugs isn't working. How many miles on truck? Have the glow plugs been changed? Has the relay switched been replaced?

The last area to check will be the air intake system. Pull the air filter housing open and remove the filter. Ensure it is clean and no debris got past it and is obstructing the air to the turbo. (My brother had a filter come apart and plug up the turbo.) Don't buy cheap air filters!

hi, heres some advice regarding your vehicle, 1st replace your fuel pump for i believe its not working really good, 2nd you might want to check on that engine temperature, when the engine is hot you find your engine very weak and acting really slugish. check for radiator / hose leaks, try replacing your radiator cap for it can be the cause of heat too, make sure your coolant is sitting at the right level and not exceeding, check the auxillary fans for it may be weak and have an oil change, it will really help.

6.5 turbo diesel wont start . new fuel pump installed, plenty of fuel to pump, no fuel to injectors. new pmd also installed. checked stop solonoid ok. ecm fuses ok. truck has had a new long block installed...

check the high pressure oil switch next to the glow plug controller. if the switch is bad you will not get any fuel to your injector pump. unplug the molex and jump it out. this will bypass the switch. if it runs, just buy another high pressure oil switch. good luck!

I am experience stalling, glow plug light always lit even with key off, allreadt read about heats damage to fuel solenoid part help! where is ignition swith located, need truck for work asap! 561-28182653

I am able to help with part of this. Your glow plug timer should be close to the glow plugs and it is behind the motor on a Ford. You should be able to find it on your Chevy by following the wires from the glowplugs to a plastic box. Even if the ignition relay is stuck on, the glowplug timer should cycle and cutoff.

You should verify with a voltmeter if your glowplugs are still getting juice with the ignition ON longterm AFTER THEY CYCLE or if it is just the dash indicator light thats on. Some glowplugs run below 12volts so don't worry about a low reading.

Check with Autozone or Oreillys for your parts and location. You could have a bad ignition switch, ignition relay, and or timer. The diesel system is wired differently than a gas sytem because diesels use compression for igniton and is switched off differently than a gas motor. You could be getting a glowplug light because it is grounding through the light.
