Unlike TomTom satnavs Garmins don't have an option of setting the centre of a town. The only option is to enter a common street name, like "Main Street", and drive to there. If there's no "Main Street" in the town type any letter and press "done"so it will show you a list of streets to select from.
Depending on the operating system of your TomTom you should be able to tap the screen then tap the forward arrow until you see "add favorite". Tap "add favorite" then tap "address", then tap "street and house number". Type in the city. This will bring up a screen with several cities on it. Select the city you want, then type in the street name. the next screen will let you put the street number in. tap done. Tap OK on the next screen.
I'm assuming you have the right map installed.Make sure you type in the right city (town/village). Make sure you are spelling the street name correctly.
If your street has been there for more than a year then it may be a map error. Try browsing the map in the area where you live to see if you you can find your street and see how it is spelt. It may be spelt incorrectly on the map. You can correct an incorrect spelling. See the manual for map corrections.
Newer streets may not be included on your current map. You may have to wait for an update or you can buy an update or you can use the map corrections to add your street. See the manual. HTH Peter
