Question about Toshiba Satellite 1400-S151 Notebook
Hello I have a toshiba satellite 1400-S151. The hard drive failed. It was an ibm hard drive. I was given a toshiba MK2018GAP ATA hard drive. However the hard drive is not recognized in bios. I've also tried to reinstall windows on this drive but hard disk not recognized so installation does not work. Do I need a special driver for this? I've also tried to install several linux distributions. Some will run live from the cd, but none will install on the new used hard drive. any help is appreciated
Format your hard drive completly with this http://www.killdisk.com/downloadfree.htm
you have to create a boot cd with this software.
once formated reinstall your OS.
But if bios does not see this HD it it's also mean that is dead.
