Question about Electrolux Epic 3500 Vacuum
We were using this vacuum which we inherited from mom & dad, and it just stopped while vacuumed. I pushed the red reset button and it came on for a fraction of a second. Will not come on now at all.
I pulled the vacuum apart in my shop (we love this vacuum- it works well for our small carpeted home) and I am wondering if the white switch may be bad, or where to get it, or to really know for sure. We have never had a problem with this vacuum for many years. I don't see any broken parts.
Thanks in advance for your advice, tommy blake

It sounds like your motor may have finally died. If you have it apart, but with all the wiring still intact, you can check to see if you have voltage at the motor terminals with a volt meter or a multimeter. Take care when doing this as the power switch has to be in the on position and there are several exposed points with 110vac. If you have 110vac at the motor terminals, and the motor isn't running then you definitely have a bad motor. If you don't have voltage there, just start tracking back towards the power cord until you find where you do have 110vac. But from the description of your problem (tripping the breaker), my guess would be the motor has failed. I hope this helps. Good Luck and be SAFE!
