Both fans cool the motor. If you have the air conditioner on both fans will run because the cars cooling system will have to disapate more heat. If you have the air conditioner off only one fan will run because the heat load on the engine isn't as great.

I have already replaced the radiator and thermostat but my 91 Honda Accord still overheats, why?

Run a cooling system pressure test. If you are losing pressure, then you will have to first locate the source of your leak.

With the engine started and the radiator topped off with coolant, does the radiator spout water out of the top? Does the spouting become more aggressive with engine revs? Yes? = Blown head gasket, or cracked cylinder.
No?- check operation of radiator cooling fan. With car stationary and hood up, run engine up to temperature and make sure radiator cooling fan kicks in before the engine temperature rises too high.

91 honda accord won't start sometimes-battery, a/c, starter?

Your tempermental starting problem could be the park neutral safety switch . They get worn inside an cause this type problem . Next time it won't start place gear selector into neutral an see if it starts then . The cooling running problem is probably the cooling fan timer module . From the diagram it's hard to say which side the A/C condenser fan is on. The A/C fan has blue with yellow stripe wire in the connector along with a black one . I would also suggest you have a qualified repair shop do a voltage drop test on the starting circuit .
How to voltage drop test starter motor circuit

Starter Voltage Drop These test's will find any starting circuit problem .

I have a 1992 Honda Accord. When you shut off the car the blower motor stays on and the lights on the heater panel.

Make sure your fan is wired correctly, if the fan is wired correclty which it may but could be crossed and spinning backward and sending power through ground wire causing a power up of the inside light and blower, if the wiring is good then replace the cooling fan relay, that must be shorting and back feeding power to heater control.

My 99 Honda Accords keeps overheating on and off when my car is on park or at a long stop. What can be the problem?

FIRST OF ALL I WOULD REPLACE THERMOSTAT AND RADIATOR PRESSURE CAP THEN CHECK SEE IF COOLING FAN RUNNING.WHILE CAR OVERHEATING. IF NOT CHECK COOLING FAN FUSE AND RELAY.IF ALL IS GOOD THE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR COULD BE FAULTY.HOT WIRE SEE COOLANT FAN WORKS IF NOT, COOLING FAN MOTOR BAD NEED REPLACING.IF COOLING FAN MOTOR WORKING PROBLEM COULD BE IN FAN MOTOR WIRING OR PCM FAILED.

My saturn sc1 is overheating the air conditioning start blowing hot and the car starts to overheat

Sounds like a case of a bad radiator elec. cooling fan motor, fan should come on with a/c on, if it don't, check fuses, if fuse ok, check for voltage at cooling fan motor, if you do have voltage, replace elec. cooling fan motor.

I have 2003 grand cherokee with 140000 miles that overheats at idle. as soon as i start moving again, the temp goes back to normal.

You have two fan's on your truck, 1 is a fan clutch runs with the drive belt, 2 elec fan motor, with test light and engine running at normal temp, just a little bit above 1/2 way on your temp gauge check voltage at elec. cooling fan harness if you have voltage at one of the two wire's and fan don't turn on, bad cooling fan motor, on the fan clutch after you check voltage at elec. fan motor turn engine off, with your hand spin drive belt fan if it spin's freely bad fan clutch, replace it.Also check cooling level.Hope this was very helpful

1995 honda accord ex auxiliary cooling fan not engaging

The accy fan you are refurring to is actually the a/c consensor fan.The only time that fan operates is with the cycling of the a/c system.Verify by turning a/c on ,fan should come on & off with a/c cycles..

91 accord rpm going up and down while car idleing

It sounds like you have air in the cooling system, it doesn't take much air to get one of these engines to do this. Most people just fill these cars up with coolant and cap them off and that's what happens. The easiest way I found to remedy this is take the cap off the radiator when the car is cooled down, top the antifreeze up and put a drain pan under the radiator, because some will spill over, Then start the car and let it idle. You will probably notice it start to produce significant bubbles, just keep topping it off as the bubbles work there way out. Once the cooling fans come on the level will start dropping again. Slowly top off the radiator as the level drops and once the fans stop pop the radiator cap on and it should be fully bled out. I hope this helps.

The cooling fan doesnt work on my 91 honda accord

  1. Cooling fan Relay
  2. Engine temp Sensor
  3. Cooling fan itself
  4. If While A/C is on Fan does not come on I would Check Fan By unplugging it first than apply Pos+ and Neg- to it if it comes on that's eliminated Then go to step 1-3 one of them is bad I usually replace Engine temp sensors no mater what they are Crucial components for the safety of the Engine.
