When you turn the system on ... the first screen shows you four icons. the two gold wheels (furthest right) touch that icon. you can then navigate through volume; calibration ... screen measuring?; battery status; your date & time settings; brightness; and language. hope this helps. tinkr

From "asvforum"...note this may require firmware upgrade of the device in order for the dim functionality to be present:
"With the unit currently powered on and the TV powered on, press POWER OFF and
then press MENU. You'll then be presented with the "hardware setup menu" where
you can set things like "native" output resolution vs. fixed output resolution,
I believe that there is now a "display brightness" setting in this
Of course I could also be wrong, and maybe this display brightness
adjustment is just part of the "user configuration" setup menu. With the unit
powered on, press MENU twice to get the main menu. Navigate to the Setup button
and push OK. Navigate to Cable Box setup button and push OK. If the display
brightness setting is in this "user configuration" setup menu, it should be seen
somewhere in here.
But I think I remember reading that it was in the
first "hardware setup menu".
Go to settings
go to system
now, at the very top it should say "system settings"
here's the tricky part:
tap the top left corner twice
tap the top right corner twice
tap the left corner once
tap the right corner once
This should bring up a hidden menu
Go to "Reset for first use"
Sounds like the sensitivity is whacked...can you hear the type sound. Mine does this sometimes and I solve it by using 2 thumbs and constantly push the settings icon, on each side. It will bring up the x for sensitivity...using the stylus tap gently and then twice to set. Hope this is what you were looking for.
hi, the method to perform an auto scan. Generally you can press the function button you want to programme, then hold SETUP down till the red led flashes twice. Then tap in 991. Now press the power button, followed by the function button that you are trying to set, repeatedly. When your piece of equipment turns off, press and hold the function button again. You should be all set.
You can buy an FM modulator at any wal-mart that will plug easily into the headphone port on the gps unit and play the sound out through the radio in your car. I had the same problem with my nextar gps but since I purchased the fm modulator it is plenty loud enough.
