Re: Fins fell off tumbler on Whirlpool Ultimate II dryer
Remove 2 screws under the lint filter cover, then using a spatula or similar, prize apart the top cover from the cabinet, lift top cover and support it.Turn drum by hand until the drum baffles are at the top, and refasten the baffles one at a time.
Then lower cover down and press until it is closed, replace 2 screwa under lint cover.
Plz rate this soution.Thanks.

These fins are usually screwed on from the outside of the drum. If you're up to it this is a simple but time consuming fix. Take the cabinet off the front of the dryer, the top will come off as well. be careful of the wires from the control console, they will stay attached to the dryer. Tighten the tumbler fins on the drum and then re-assemble the cabinet. Typically the screws you need to access are the same used for the door latch and hinges. They go back together easy ........
If you are referring to the "fins", there are 3 of them that tumble the clothes, you can refer to some previous questions. You will need to remove the top first and then tighten them up. I have to replace one of my "fins" because it broke off inside of the dryer.
If the first three digits of the model number are "110." remove the lint filter from the top and remove the two exposed screws. Then you can insert a putty knife or similar tool into the gap between the front panel and top, about 2-1/2 inches in from the sides, and push in on the retaining clips. While pushing on a clip, simultaneously lift on that corresponding top corner, and the top will release to swing up.
This will expose the outside of the tumbler. As you spin the tumbler, each spot where a baffle is attached will come into view. After making sure there are no items inside the baffles (coins, pins, etc.), tighten the holding screws.
1. take off the door hinge screws,
2 take off the two opposite the hinge
3. lift the door up and out
4. graqb the slim side walls on either side of the door way
turn them in and pull the whole panal tword you
5. once you have the door cowel off, you should see two top dogs screwed down with 2 5/16
romove those and the dogs
6. with the top dogs off you should be able to lift the top, like the hood of your car
7. once the top is up , you will have access to the tumbler top and the screws for the fins should be right on top
Refer to pages 5-2 and 5-3 of the manual below (Should be similar to yours) to
see how to expose the drum by lifting the top of the machine. Then turn
drum very slowly and only until the screw holes for the missing fins
are within your reach. Most of these dryers have two sizes of fins make
sure you order the right one if you need to replace them.
