2 different openers stopped working by remote at the same time

I have an older genie and a newer chamberlin . The chamberlin is controlled by 2 factory remotes, the genie is controlled by universals. They all stopped working at the same time.I reprogramed the chamberlin remotes. They worked at first then they didn't. I purchased a new universal, programed both doors but I have no range. Help me if you can. I also have a keypad that seems to work fine as do the hardwired buttons.

I also have same problem. Three Garages two on one side of the house and one on the other. until this morning all garage remotes worked for each of the garages. This morning none worked. Only thing I can think of is we are under Orlando Flight Path could some interference or EM Pulse cause the garage openers to scramble. Similarly the hard wired buttons still work so not the doors. Little freaky???????? Going to try and re program in the morning and hope that works. If not will try buying a bunch of new remotes.

You might have a remote interference problem! so to fix this and make your life a little more convenient you should go to home depot, or lowes and buy 2 liftmaster receiver kits, the kits come with a receiver and a remote, so that way you can operate both doors from 1 remote, each remote should have 3 buttons

Both the older genie and a newer chamberlain (3-4 yrs old) both run on 390Mhz frequency. sounds like you will have to change your receivers on both operators (365LM 315Mhz) then get 3 button remote so you can program both doors on one remote.

How do I program 2 remotes for a craftsman 13953615sr garage dooe opwner?

Actually, if it is an older liftmaster, I'll bet you are using one older and one newer remote, probably different brands.

There were several code systems used, most notably "billion code" and "rolling code". The liftmaster can use one at a time. If you have one "billion code" (older) remote and one "rolling code" (newer), you will be able to use only one at a time.

See the "Remote control" section of this article:

My opener opens both garage door I only want it to open one

You will need to erase both openers out and recode.

Press the learn button on the motor head until the led light goes out on it. Wait for 2 minutes. ----- Press and release the learn button and then press the button on the remote 3 times and try. Genie openers sometimes take multiple times doing this to code in for some reason. For multiple remotes repeat from -----. For the other opener do the same thing but with a different button on the remote, unless you have a 1 button remote then use different remotes for the 2 doors. Thanks BB

There is a button on the motor head you can press. Press it then press the button on the remote 3 times and try it. If not try it again. Genies are bad for not coding in the first time. Make sure there are new batteries in it. Thanks BB

Genie Compact 3-Button Remote control will only open 1 door/not 2

On some of the remotes you will find a toggle switch to change frequencies, this might help. Note all new openers are operating on a different frequency than slightly older ones due to military interference. Even though both might be intellicode they might not work together on the same remote. Sometimes some openers are harder to program than others. So lets try to program the harder one. You need to find and press the learn button on the motor head. Then press the button on the remote once. The led light by the learn button should not flash. If so try it over. The light should either stay lit or go out after the first press. If it does press it again and then a third time. If it ever flashes during the program process try again. The third or fourth time the motor should operate. If not you either have a bad remote or more than likely a bed logic board. Thanks BB

How to use 2 button remote for two mighty mule gate openers

I understanding that the chamberlin is a two button remote so as long as you have the same kind of recierver (a box hooked up in your operator that has dip switches,it recieves signals when the remote and it are set the same.) you should be able to use the two button remote on both machines. If not their is a reciever that is called multi-code and it is universal to work with all gate openers. the chamberlin remote you have will work with it.

Have a 3 Genie remote and the center button works in programming one garage door, but the side buttons will not work to program the other garage door. Can you help?

The other opener has to be a genie, compatible genie to be exact. An older one will not work with new devices. If it will not program it will be the openers fault not the remote. Thanks BB

GARAGE CONTROL SYSTEM

Try holding the hand held remote up next to the homelink (built in remote). Hold down the botton on the hand held remote and the botton you want to program in the car at the same time until the homelink light goes out. This could take 60 seconds or more. Now depending on which model garage door open and how old it is you may need to program the car to the opener. Usually this is done by pushing the botton on the back(Liftmaster,Sears, Chamberlin) or the botton on the front(Genie) and then go to the car and push the same botton on more time. I hope this helps.
