Hello manofpeace,
Many standard electric dryers run off a 30A double pole breaker. You need to make sure the wiring to your receptacle is sized accordingly and the pigtail power cord from your dryer is of the correct size ( meaning rated for 30Amps or more)...

I have a ge dryer modle number DCVH515EF0WW that will not get any power is there a reset button

Check electric outlet and plug in to dryer, see if breaker is tripped in breaker box, should be a 30 amp double pole breaker. Turn the breaker lever all the way off to reset, then turn the breaker on.

I have a 30 amp double pole breaker. It has power in the panel to both sides. But on the plug, there is only power to one side.

If power is available to both inputs of breaker, it is possible that power is not going to the output side of the breaker due to a defect - replace breaker. If power is also on the out side of breaker and the connections there are intact, there has to be something messed up between the breakers output and the female plug that services your appliance.

My Frigidaire affinity dryer model AEQ6000ES2 will not start there are no error messages it just will not start. Please help.

You didn't mention if you knew for sure if there was power to the dryer or not. If a gas type, it should have a standard 120 volt outlet that you can plug a lamp, radio, etc. to see if power is present. If an electric type, it will have a 240 volt outlet specifically for a dryer. You will not be able to test the outlet unless you have a meter, test light etc.

Locate the electrical panel in the home or building for your space. If you have a gas dryer, look for single pole 15 or 20 circuit breaker that is off or tripped. If an electric dryer, look for a double pole (double-wide) 30 amp circuit breaker that is off or tripped. regardless if a single pole or double pole, if found off, push the handle back to on. If tripped, push the handle to off, then to on. Check the dryer to see if it runs.

Lastly, some of the newer appliances have mini-computers or processors in them. Like you home computer - it may encounter an issue and gets stuck. You should locate the circuit breaker for the appliance in the electric panel and shut it off for 30 - 60 seconds. Then turn back on. This is similar to a "reboot" and may get the dryer working again for you.

Good luck!

I have a Maytag dryer model MED5740TQ0 that won't start. Dryer was recently moved to a new location. House was being remodeled so plug and breaker had to be installed. Plug is a 3 prong and dryer had 4...

If you are only getting 120v to the dryer, you still have a breaker tripped. It should be right next to the single pole 30. It takes 2 breakers to get the 240v you need to run the dryer. Try resetting another breaker expecially the ones marked 30amp. You do need to get a double pole breaker installed even for safety reasons.

Dryer stop in the middle of drying and wont come back on

Locate and check the circuit breaker. It should be a Double-Pole breaker of 30 amps or so. Turn it off and back on to make sure it is not in a tripped condition. Be sure there is nothing stuck where the door closes. And that you can hear the door switch "click" when you open/close.

Dryer was working, quit in middle of cycle. Will

It's rather unusual for any internal failure to cause the dryer to just stop in cycle. Check the circuit breaker that supplies the dryer. It should be a double-pole breaker of at least 30 amps. Turn the breaker off and back on to ensure it is reset. Internal causes could be the motor, door switch, thermal safety switch, timer, or a broken wire.

Installing a 220 circuit breaker

First you must have space for a double pole 30 amp breaker in your panel.
Otherwise is is almost the same as the one you installed before, exception is 2 hots both going to the breaker.
The green goes to ground. The white goes to neutral. The black and red go to the breaker.

Fridgeidaire clothes dryer

I will try this again i don't think i posted it properly.
On the power cord where it connectes to the dryer make sure the red and black wire goes to the outside screws (L1& L2) the white goes in the middle and the green goes to the dryer cabinet.
If you have the red or black going to the middle one it will trip the breaker.

My dryer will come on and drum spins but the heat does not work. the model # is FEFB9100ES0

!st...Check your fuse box or circuit breaker panel.
If you have fuses, you need to locate the 2-30 amp fuses that control your dryer and replace both of them.
If you have breakers, locate the the 30 amp double pole breaker that controls the dryer. Flip the breaker to OFF, then back to ON.
Check your dryer operation and if the issue still exists, decide whether you want to D.I.Y. or call a tech.

If you want more assistance, feel free to write me back, or go on-line for expert service.

Thank you,

If it is running, chances are one of the thermostats are gone. You have two on the heater bank, a high level and a safety, have them both changed.
