Also make sure the flat side of the needle is not facing you when you put it in.

There is a small screwdriver that comes with the sewing machine accessories. You need that to loosen the screw on the side of where the needle goes. once the screw is loose you can slide the needle up and then tighten the screw. Just make sure that the needle isn't bent at all because it will get stuck!

How to put a thread cutter in husqvarna viking desinger se sewing machine

I believe the plastic cover (gray?) toward the end of the arm (left of the needle plate) is removable by prying (gently) on the front edge and sliding toward you. Unless the cutter is broken, you should be able to figure out how itall fits back together.

I need to change a needle in a Simplicity Serger SL370 but can't figure out how to do it....

for the two upper needles you use the "L" shaped tool that came with the serger. All you do is stick it in the hole for the needle you need to change. Upper leftish one is for the one on the left, lower rightish one is for the right side needle. That loosens the neelde and it slides down. Put new needle in, slide it up, put the L tool back in the hole and tighten.

Makes too much noise

Check that your needle is fully up into the needle housing, and is in flat shank to the back.

Also change the needle if it has been in the machine for more than 6 hours of sewing as the needle will go blunt and this can make squeaking or popping sounds as you stitch.

Lastly, are you sure that the bobbin case is in correctly and hasn't been put in incorrectly. It should have a stitch finger which locks up into the top of the rotary hook if its a vertical bobbin case and bobbin design which I'm pretty sure your machine is.

METAL PLATE COVERING BOBBIN WON'T STAY DOWN

Take it apart again and compare the original screw with the one you substituted. If they are not the same size, you will need to get one that matches the original.

Re-place the needle plate and when firmly in place, put the screws back in.

W3300 hook and needle

I had many broken needles before I put my thread on a thread stand behind my machine. I found that the thread was winding around the thread post and causing a jam and thus, breaking my needles. This solution worked!

Bobbin help please!

Take out the raceway and check for broken threads/lint. Unthread the machine and put in a new needle taking care to insert it correctly. It may be that the needle is slightly bent. Put everything back carefully and check it is running smoothly with NO THREAD first(no bobbin thread either-use an empty bobbin). This will prove there is nothing catching. If it catches when you thread it then you are having a problem with incorrect threading.
