Re: Salton Yogurt Maker GM5 plastic lid replacement
I found that there are tupperware lids that fit perfectly. When asking for replacement parts from tupperware you need the mold number off of the part. The lid I found that matched is mold #297. When I called Tupperware they told me that that's no longer being produced but mold #4922 is a functional replacement. I'm in the process of ordering a few to see if the new lids fit as well (you can't buy directly from Tupperware making this a more protracted process).

I have another pot with a lid and the lid 'fits' my crockpot; my glass crock pot just broke and my heart broke along with it! The cooking pot's lid worked for the soup I made last week but you can't see into the pot; I like that about the crock pot. Try another lid, or you can try to buy a new/different one, like I'm trying to do! :)
easy fix go down to your hardware store and buy a big wooden knob (like you would put on a cabnet to open it) it will even come with its own screw for .99 ! . you will have to snap off with a plyers and a screwdriver whats left of the old knob from the lid . but this fix works great and looks good too !
For what it's worth, when the handle on my mother-in-law's crockpot broke, I went to Home Depot and bought a cheap wooden drawer knob (about $1 as I recall). I put a plastic washer between the knob and the glass and another under the screw head from the bottom (to prevent cracking the lid), tightened the screw and good as new.
you cannot buy them . but a big wodden knob from a hardware store works great on the top and its only a 1.00 ...... the side handles are made from the same cheep plastic and snap off without warning , so dont move the pot when full .people have been burned with hot food from this crockpot !
This site sells replacement rival lids. They have plastic and glass ones. I would suggest you measure you old one and order a new one in glass. The added weight of the glass should cure your problems. Thanks Kevin PS if this helped you pls leave feedback. Call Hamilton Beach. This crock pot was recalled because of threat of severe burn. My handle broke and I dropped my lid. When I called to buy a new lid, I was told of the recall. They will send you an envelope. You then send back the end of the cord. I got a whole new cooker, crock and lid in the mail. : )
