Question about iSonic SNAPBOX DV566 Digital Camera

1 Answer

ISONIC SNAPBOX HD787

My Dell is not recognizing the device. Both ports are functioning properly. other devices are also recognized. I downloaded the Blaze media player that was on the disc that came with the device.

Before I downloaded the media player, my pc recognized that the device was plugged in but it could not read the files.

My PC Specs:
Windows Vista
Intel Core 2 Duo
2.0 GB Memory
32-bit OS

I meet the minimum requirements to operate the device. I thought there may be a driver that I am missing...I went to the company's website and they only show a picture and specs. I read the manual and it basically said that I need to get the above specs or a USB port that works properly. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Isonic doesn't claim drivers even come with the camera. What do you get when you plug it into your computer? It may not need drivers.

My camera is not being recognized by my Dell laptop. The camera has always worked fine, but I am trying to download pictures and the computer is not recognizing the camera. The USB port is working fine.

Open up control panel and add a new device. Once there plug up your unit and
see if it shows in the adding new device window. If that does'nt work go to your
device manager ( ) see if you
notice any items that require your attention (usually marked in yellow or red) and
try to resolve there.

You should be able to use any standard USB and charge it via camera to computer USB. Or you might try a standard USB AC adapter.

USB Device Not Recognized

try downloading the drivers from sony first http://www.kb.sony.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&externalId=C116935&fes=true&mdl=DSCW5 that is if you have already downloaded the proper usb drivers for your system in which case other usb device are still working also it is possible that the usb port itself has gone bad or is in conflict with another driver assuming your using windows to check this you can start by telling me which version of windows you are using but more than likely the proper camera drivers will solve the issue

USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED

Turn off CPU, Unplug Power cable, And all usb devices, let it sit for about 20mins. Plug it all back in. Turn on the CPU! Also make sure if your device requires "DRIVERS" or if you have a CD download and install that before anything.

No usb port found

If you can't find such on your machine, then it's either disabled, the BIOS is out of date, the OS doesn't support your USB (Examples abound!) or other. I cut my time loss by adding an USB PCI card.
