No beep and no fan can be a dead circuit in the powerpack, however if you have quiet fans like i do (virtually silent) then it maybe the bios or a dead motherboard. I recommend opening the computer case, discharge your body from any static (usually you can do this by touching the metal side of the computer) look for the CMOS or BIOS battery (which looks like an oversized watch battery) take it out and leave it out for 1-3 hours. After that you will have to program you BIOS ( date and time mainly) if it turns on..if not, then more than likely you have a dead motherboard and/or you might want to take it to a qualified computer expert asap.

We had a power outage and now my HP m1264n desktop computer will not start. The green light on the back is flashing, but nothing happens when I press the power button on the front. Could it be my power...

the green light on the power supply but it dosnt relay to the mother board, the first item I would nbe concerned with is that the power supply that is,unplug your computer open up the access panel on the tower, the largest plug from the power supply, going to the motherboard unplug it . the plug has a release on it pinch inward and pull up at the sametime this will relaese it, now plug in your computer to the wall power and if your power supply has a switch on it turn it on,also make sure the 240 110 volt switch it's a slide switch on the power supply is on 110 volts if your not in europeits 110 here in the usa, if the light fails to blink or even turn on its the fuse in the power supply,if the light comes on blinking the power supply needs more attention if the light stays on full the problem lyes beyond the power supplyI would guess the fuse is the problem, now youll find two of them within the case of the power supply hope this helps.

Blingking light on my motherboard, no power.

Chances are your power supply and computer is fine! From other forums on this problem (which I also had), I've learned the following:
1. If you unplug the computer for a half hour or so (the blinking green light will gradually slow down and quit) and plug it back in, the situation will correct itself and the green light will be steady; however if this does not work,
2. a reset that works for a lot of people with the blinking light problem involves leaving the power supply plugged in and unplugging the power supply connection at the motherboard (it usually also has a blinking green LED) and plugging it back in. To read up on how to do this, Google "blinking green light on computer power supply" and read through some of the forums and you'll come on more specific instructions. Usually, you have to wade through everybody telling you to replace the power supply or your motherboard is fried. It's worth a try for a quick fix, just in case those situations don't apply!

Will not pwer up. Greenlight blinking on back

The green blinking light can mean there is a problem with the power supply.

Try unplugging the computer from the wall, and turning on the pc on switch.

After a few minutes, try plugging it back in.

If that does not start things up, you may have a bad power supply.

If the power supply is bad, these models take standard power supplies. You should get an ATX 350Watt or higher power supply.

They are easy to replace, unplug the power from the wall, disconnect all the cables inside the computer. Unscrew the four phillips screws outside the back of the computer where the power supply is attached to the case.

Remove and replace.

If you don't feel comfortable with this, a good local computer shop can help you out.

Dell pc dimensio 5150 wont boot up

If the power light is blinking amber - The computer is receiving electrical power, but an internal power problem might exist.
Ensure that the voltage selection switch is set to match the AC power at your location (where power cord goes into unit).
Also try simply unplugging the unit from the wall outlet for a minute then plug it back in and boot it up.

Power light blinks

The blinking button is an error code. You need to call HP and they will help you determine what the code means and how to fix the problem.

I have a shap lcd computer monitor and when i plug it into my computer and turn the power on, the little green power light comes on, screens back. and after 5-10 seconds the light turns orange and blinks...

It could be your monitor is fine. It simply goes to a cycle when its turned on and does not detect any signal coming from your CPU, it simply goes on standby mode (hence the darker image and orange/blinking light.) have you checked the computer (CPU) part?

Power light blinking yellow after sitting a while

Unplug computer, disconnect all usb/monitor/internet, open it, hold power button until green led on the inside on the motherboard turns off, pop out the BIOS battery (looks like a big watch battery and use a small flathead screwdriver to depress the spring lock on one side), plug in computer, hold power button for about 20 seconds (must reset BIOS or something), let up on power button, wait 10 seconds and push power button. The computer should turn on. Wait for it until activity seems stable (1 min. or so). Push powerbutton to shut off.

If this has worked you have proven that it's not the power supply (it turned on).

Go buy a new battery (CR2032 3 volt). Unplug computer, open it, hold power button until green led on the inside on the motherboard turns off, pop in new battery, plug in (you should notice the power button blinking amber again), hold power button until it stops blinking (about 20 sec....again must reset BIOS or something), wait 10 sec., push power button. the computer should turn on. Wait for it until activity seems stabe (1 min. or so). Push powerbutton to shut off.

Now, close case, plug in all usb/monitor/internet/etc. Power up computer. You'll get an internal floppy drive error. Push F2 (maybe F1) to get into the BIOS settings and go to "drives" and turn off the internal floppy. Save and exit. The computer should boot properly now.

This seems to be a big problem with the e510, my theory is that this one small battery is the root of most of these failures (as these computers usually fail after 1-2 years), not the power supply or the motherboard (heck, when you replace the motherboard it comes with a new one of these batteries...a several hundred dollar piece of hardware, with a $5 battery that will actually fix it).

Light on power supply blinks once than nothing, the computer (hp) will not turn on.  It has no responses, when I unplug the power supply from the computer and plug it into the wall it does the same thing...

the power box is no good. get the numbers off it and look on ebay for a replacement or you can go to www.tigerdirect.com/
you can find them cheep. most of the time when the box blows and the mother board go's too, I would get a motherbaord as well.

No power, power supply & motherboard green light blinking

I had the same exact problem for the same exact reason. Plug the power cable into the back. Open up the side of the case and unplug all the wires that the power supply plugs into. The motherboard, harddrive, cd & dvd drives, everything. wait about 10 minutes and plug them back in, plugging the BIG cable that connects to the motherboard back in LAST. This will make the light go from blinking to solid. I think it is a safety? to protect the motherboard from damage.
