Some times the blower stops during the summer i added refrigerant and it worked fine for a while now sometimes it will work and other times it won't
The brushes in the blower motor are worn out and need renewing or a new motor if the parts are not available

it sounds like you need to replace the flasher unit under the drivers side dash

this is likely due to the unit that sends the speed signal to the computer. Without this information the speedometer won't work and neither will the odometer/tripmeter. without the speed signal the computer has to use other information like engine speed to determine shift timing, but that is less accurate that ground speed and so it won't shift as smooth. I would start by checking the sensor located at the back of the trans on 2wd and in the transfer case in 4x4 models.

The fan motor has gone out,it was bad before it went out,drawing too many amps,so it took the blower motor resister out with it.The resister is next to the blower motor.On the speedo,check,or replace the speed sensor in the transmission,

What is the problem the blower or a leaking system ?
what i was wondering is if thier is a sensor to prevent the blower from working when the charge is low and why it would not work with the heater as well
when gas is low the AC pump stops working not the blower motor ,You blower motor is knackered fit a new one but first check for power to it case a fuse has a dirty connection wouldnt be the first time i have had problems with the blower motor wiring burning ou on the back of the fuse board .Seem to get it lot with the escort and focus mpdels in in spain so check it out with a meter before you fit a new motor
