GE Profile Side-by-Side Refrigerator panel no longer works
The model number is PSC23MGTA. The lights on the panel still light up. But whenever the bar is depressed, the compressor turns off (if it is on) and the light of the selected item goes out. So if ''water'' is selected, the compressor would turn off if its on and the water light goes out. It started with ice sometimes not being dispensed. Now the entire panel is not working.
Is there any way this problem can be fixed myself, perhaps because of a blown fuse or something? Or does this have to be done by a registered tech?

Can you provide the model number found somewhere around the fresh food section door? When you say LED lights it call to mind the GE Monogram but it does not have LED lighting. Here is a link to that Service Manual HERE I need your correct
model number to look up the wiring diagram. From looking over other diagrams the problem could be a bad door switch, loose connection or a defective relay on the motherboard. I will be here to answer any questions, Thanks Sea Breeze
I have a GE Profile Side by Side Model PSCS5RGXAFSSThe lights work but it does not cool (or work) in the Fridge side or the Freezer side. The front door panel numbers illuminate but, will not control any setting. What's wrong? The unit is 4 years old.
there's a computer board on the back wall, most likely it needs to be changed,G.E. has been having alot of problems with their boards and everything runs through it,i believe the part number is wr55x10942 but call your parts store, give them the model number on the machine and they'll give you the correct part,it's around 150 to 200 bucks,i've changed a few with the same problem,on some of them the fans run slow then fast,if the water dispenses the compressor shuts off or it won't dispense at all just like yours.let me know how you make out
We have a GE Profile side-by-side refrigerator which we purchased in 2002, Model PSS25NGNACC. Today we had a repairman come to investigate why the Express Thaw 3lb. light was on and could not be shut off. If shut off, it came on again when the door was closed and reopened. The repairman called GE and learned that this light was an air filter change indicator which turns on at some interval (2 years, they said, although we don't remember ever seeing this before). The air filter involved is for the interior of the fridge and is not critical. GE said that newer master control boards have this function disabled, since people rarely changed the filter and GE no longer makes them. I have read our user manual cover to cover and find nothing on this filter. I guess we just have to pay the $70 dollars to have someone come and call GE to figure it out. But, enough of that. To reset the indicator, simultaneously press the following keys on the touchpad and hold for 5 seconds until it beeps:
