Wi-fi- error I'm traveling away from my my home wi-fi, where I'm at is a different server the kindle asks me to connect to the server it recognises here and set up enter password, which I can't remember,
then manually set up your network. My wife's kindle works even in Europe without making changes why is mine asking me to change to a different server?
Refer to your Internet service provider, if they provided your wireless router, or the router manufacturer, for additional help. Restart your Kindle and modem and/or router. Press and hold the Power button on your Kindle for seven seconds until the Power dialog box appears, and then tap Screen Off.
Four reasons come to mind that may prevent you from connecting:
Wi-Fi Passwords are case sensitive. Please check again if you entered the password with proper casing and you did not put any extra white space in front or behind. I know, this sounds annoying, but it is really the most common cause for connection problems.
Give your network a unique SSID. This is the network name that shows up in the list of detected networks. Default names like LINKSYS can be troublesome if a neighbor one block down the street happens to have a router from the same company.
Some routers have a MAC address filter as a security measure, limiting service to devices specifically whitelisted. If your router is set up for this, add your Kindle's MAC address to the list of permitted devices. See your router's configuration under Wireless > Wireless MAC Filter. You can check the MAC of your Kindle from its settings page (press HOME, MENU, select SETTINGS, see paragraph headlined "Device Info".
There are twelve different standards for Wi-Fi transmission collected under the hood IEEE 802.11. The four most dominant transmission modes are called a, b, g and n. They differ in radio frequency, modulation method and data rate. Kindle supports the two standards IEEE 802.11 b and g only, which is not really a problem because all wireless routers I ever encountered support one or both of these, too. However, the Linksys N-series can be set up to use 802.11n exclusively, not allowing for b or g connections. In the router menu Wireless > Basic Wireless Settings (Manual Setup), make sure the network mode is configured as "Mixed".

Your Kindle is connected to a Wi-Fi network and has a strong signal. The Wi-Fi symbol appears when in range of a trusted Wi-Fi network.
To connect to a Wi-Fi network with a hidden SSID, select Add Wi-Fi network from the settings. Then manually type in your SSID and password, and select your network security type. Select Save when finished. Now you can browse the web through your Wi-Fi router or connect to other network devices
Your kindle has a sim card installed for 3G (lifetime licence paid by amazon and paid for on purchase price on the unit) but that is not related to the wi-fi function on your kindle. Your wi-fi service needs to be logged in to with the same password as you use to log any computer on to your router when at home or whatever wi-fi password is required when elsewhere (e.g a bus, train or restaurant).
From the Home screen, press the Menu button.
Select Settings, and then select view next to Wi-Fi Settings.
In the list of detected networks, choose a network to connect to it.

If sky37606 is your own wi-fi service then the password is normally on a typed label stuck to the wi-fi router itself along with the SSID of the wi-fi network which should be sky37606 in confirmation you are connecting to the correct network.
If sky37606 is not your own wi-fi then you will either need to contact the owner or administrator of that network or select a different wi-fi network to connect to as described in the Kindle Support web pages for your device.
If the sky wi-fi is your own wi-fi service then the password is normally on a typed label stuck to the wi-fi router itself along with the SSID of the wi-fi network which should be the same as you have selected on the Kindle in confirmation you are connecting to the correct network.
If the sky wi-fi is not your own wi-fi then you will either need to contact the owner or administrator of that network or select a different wi-fi network to connect to as described in the Kindle Support web pages for your device.
