I recently installed a Logitech Web Cam on my computer.Ever since I have a problem with the mouse. It won't move after a short period of time. The only way I can get it to move is shut the computer off and tun it back on after about 15 seconds.I talked with Logitech and they suggested moving to another port.I haven't tried this yet,due to just having hip replacement surgery.Any help would be appreciated.

Computer does not boot up The problem maybe the RAM, it is faulty or just needs reseating to make proper electrical contact.
Reseat the RAM and then boot up your laptop. If it still does not boot up then remove the RAM module/s and take them to your friendly computer repair shop and get them to test the RAM for you.

I have a Medion wireless mouse and the mouse pointer keeps freezing intermittently. The operating system is windows vista home premium.

Make sure the mouse batteries are fully charged.

Also make sure the mouse is not too far away from the base / cradle and there is nothing blocking the sensor on the front of the mouse cradle.

Make sure all the cables are fully inserted. Check both ends of the power adapter plug going into the back of the mouse cradle and the plugs leading to the back of the computer.

Try cleaning the little red LED light under the mouse with a QTip to remove any dust.

Finally try using a different mouse pad. Some work better than others with certain brands of wireless mice.

Also make sure there is not another wireless mouse being used in close proximity. The two can often interfere with each other.

Good luck and please comment back and RATE if this was helpful.

Mouse continually skips around. I changed batteries, reset it and everything. What's wrong?

You have the tracking speed set too high.Go to 'start'-'control panel'-'printers and other hardware'-'mouse'.After opening mouse you'll see "pointer options",click and you'll see "pointer speed".Move the speed down from fast to slow until you can see it easily. The other thing is if you don't have enough RAM memory it won't be able to keep up with simple hand movements.Click "start'-right click"computer"left click"properties"and up will come what you have for a computer will be displayed.Near the bottom of the page will be RAM,to it's left is how much you have.XP you need at least 512MB(1GB is better-up to 3GB best)Vista 1GB minimum,up to 6GB with Vista x64.Adding Ram is the easiest way to speed up a sluggish machine. Please re post if you'd like to get into changing setting for best performance.

Compaq notebook laptop: my mouse pointer or arrow is

If you have a manual for the notebook, check to see if you can use the function key and the similarly coloured key on the keyboard which enables/disables the touch pad. Usually you can disable the mouse pointer touch pad with this FUNCTION key + MOUSE key when pressed together. Often these keys have the same colour (usually blue). The purpose is to disable the touch pad when you are using an external USB or wireless mouse, then you press the 2 keys again together to enable the touch pad once you have removed the USB/wireless mouse.

If that doesn't work, borrow a USB mouse and attach it to your notebook to use temporarily while you diagnose the problem.

To work around this problem, turn off the Enhance pointer precision feature: 1. Click Start, click Run, type control mouse, and then click OK. 2. Click the Pointer Options tab, click to clear the Enhance pointer precision check box, and then click OK.
Also see this article from Logitech.

The surface on which you use the mouse plays an important role in its tracking. The optical sensor must use the pattern on the surface to track the position of the cursor. Therefore, using the mouse on a glass or otherwise see-through surface will inhibit the ability of the sensor to track the cursor. Also, if you are using the mouse on a reflective surface, such as a mirror or shiny metal desk, you may experience tracking problems. In both these situations, try using the mouse on a mouse pad or piece of paper. By using the mouse on a white sheet of paper, you can also conserve battery life. Other surfaces that have been known to cause tracking problems are:
  • Some wood grains
  • Grooved surfaces
Hope that helps! Should you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here.
