Question about PNY 4GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive - Grey/Black

1 Answer

AUDIO FILES I have recently purchased a PNY 4GB USB for my in car stereo, when putting music on it for some reason I can only transfer music files which I have downloaded. If I try to transfer music from a CD which i have 'ripped' on the computer it will not play any music just skip through the numbers. Why is this? And is there any way you can change the order of the music once it is on the USB? Many Thanks Lauren Head

Your car stereo apparently only recognizes mp3
your ripped cds are probably in a different format such as wma (windoes media audio).
when ripping a cd choose mp3 as the encoder instead.
it should work

about changing order:
the order is alphabetical, you can change the order if you change the name. adding numbers in the beggining of all filenames should do it

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Can I put my micro sd 16gd into this and play music through usb on car stereo?

To my knowledge, USB ports on smartphones are only used for transferring files to/from a PC. You'll need either a mini-phono (1/8") input on your car stereo and a male-male mini-phono adapter cord or play to a Bluetooth receiver that either transmits to your car's FM band or has an audio input to your car stereo. MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto yourcomputer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3player.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.

I have a PNY 4GB high speed USB Drive. I want to

Well, the easy way would be to do this

But if you want to use the USB drive just insert it into an open USB port
  1. click Start
  2. click My Computer
  3. Select the USB drive from the list of connected drives
  4. Click and drag the files from their location to the USB drive
To get them to the other computer follow steps 1-3, then click and drag them from the USB drive to their new location.

PNY optima sd card "card error"

You should try some photo recovery software to rescue the files on your camera card, here are some you may rely on. Both programs can also recover videos and music.
Photo Recovery Software (for Windows)
Mac Photo Recovery Software (for Mac OS X)

Be careful: Before your pictures are recovered, do not attempt to save more files to the card in case the original files(your pictures) are overwritten.
