Cannot open pdf file in email

This is a known issue with users sending PDF's using Microsoft Outlook. The link below gives instructions on how to change on their end.

PDF file changed to DAT file on receiving end when using Outlook in...

I also found a solution that might work on your end...This is from a blog post on the Apple forums.

This is a common problem.
I have found a converion web-site, where you upload the problem file, and it is automatically 'deciphered', and the contents can be downloaded in their individual files.

How to email files from the computer

hi there,
1st thing you should do is set up an email account with one of the main providers like google, yahoo, hotmail or you may have another provider you prefer like your isp provider. That is of course only if you have not one already set up. ok once you have your email setup, locate the file/s that you want to send and take note where they are(i.e documents>folder>your file). this will make it easier for you you when you want to send it by email. Ok, once you're happy you know where your files are, log into your email and go to compose email/draft. Enter any text you want or need in the compose field and when finished, look for "attach a file" usually either on the top or the bottom of your compose field depending on which email provider you are using. Click on this and it should open a window with options to find the file you want to attach like windows explorer. now navigate to where your file/s are like you did before, and once you have the file/s you want select one to attach, you can only attach one at a time. once selected click on the "open" button on the bottom of your window and your file should be attached to your email now, sometimes once you select the file you want it will attach the file automatically and you wont even need to click on open. if you want to attach more files just repeat the process from clicking on attach a file. be wary tho of the size of your files, because the bigger they are(in kilobites/megabits) the less you should attach to the one email, cause it may just have difficulty in sending the email if the overall size is too big. To see how big your file is, just right click on it and select properties, and here you will see the size, type of file and other info on it. hope this helps and good luck :)

What's the best procedure 4 downloading-saving-scaning software?

When downloading trusted exe files, always save to a location such as the download folder. After downloading, you will need to go that location and scan the file (right-click, scan file) , then execute the file (double-click).

Documents and photos need to be attached one by one, but you can send many in a single email.

If you need something easier to send/recieve, check out this cool program

When I try to send a picture I scaned to an email it keeps saying something about a pop 3 server not found

Do you use outlook express or outlook for your email or a server based email. If you use a server based email the scanner software is opening the program that resided on your pc which is not set up for emailing. That is why it says the pop 3 server is not found. You will need to attach the picture file to your email from within your hotmail or google or what ever web based email you use. Then send it.

HI, I am trying to scan and email it to a friend.  How do I do that?  I pushed scan and had my email open but nothing happened.  Can you walk me through this procedure.  I have a Canon MX310.  Thanks

try scanning the photo or page/
save to my pictures folder as jpg file/

it will open an application to choose file so go to my pictures folder and select the file you just crated and saved/
your email will upload that fill so it might take a minute or two/
write your email and then send it.
practice it a few times sending it to yourself or another email address you might have/

it depends if they have the software associated with your sent file types, or they have their email settings so that they can recieve emails, but block attachments, they can change this in tools in outlook express
