Possibly a kink in the pump out hose.  That was my problem, thought it was pump, and the kink was the first thing the repair man looked for and found.  Part available in any hardward 10' dishwasher hose.

Hi,

The symptoms on a Dishlex Global 300 dishwasher:
  • eco light is flashing constantly;
  • noise on pump running continuously;
  • but the unit will not operate.
Possible corrective actions include:
  • water level - pls check incoming water pressure, filter, water level sensor, water valve;
  • base/bottom overflow sensor - there is a float switch in the base of the machine inside a small plastic dish. Behind the kick panel, access through a metal lid/panel/cover secured by 2 small screws. Dry completely the area;
  • Air/dry/ventilate the unit/system for a couple of days;
  • reduce incoming water pressure.
Hope that this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Need to reset, can't get it off the error code for overflow

sounds more like the waste hose is blocked or the pump has packed in. If the machine cannot empty the water this will always appear.

Found lots of fluff from a previous wash. Next wash the machine failed to empty. Did persist & a trickle of water arrived, machine is now almost empty of water, least enough open the door. Possible...

To clean pump you will need to unplug machine, at rear using screwdriver remove the panel at bottom of machine. depending on fitting of clip holding pipe onto your pump, use suitable tool to remove the clip. You can now remove the pipe from the pump. check inside the pump also.If you need to remove the tub end of this pipe there is what is like a ping pong ball within the pipe. Make sure you refit this as it acts as a non return for the water.

Dishwasher keeps pumping out - won't start cycle - green light flashing on panel

I had same symptoms on a Hotpoint dishwasher.
Turned out to be a failed water heater.
The logic in this case goes like this:
When wash cycle starts, the first thing the machine does is pump out any water that has collected in the sump since it was last run.
It then allows a small amount of clean water in and enables the water heater.
If heater okay, it then continues with the rest of cycle.
In this case, the control board detected failed heater so pumps out the water and then stops with an error code shown by a flashing lamp.

No simple fix I'm afraid - machine had to be turned on its side, bottom panel removed, several items had to be removed to get at the water heater which was then repalced with a new one.

You dont state what make/model your dishwasher is so maybe worth adding this information as someone else may recognise your fault and have a quick fix.

Hotpoint built in dishwasher

Check your air gap on your kitchen sink. If equipped, you will most likely find it clogged. Pull off the metal cap, then unscrew the white or clear cap. You should find your clog there. Replace both caps and remember to pre-rinse the dishes better before loading.
