NO POWER AT ALL on Toshiba Satellite A105-S2101. PLEASE HELP!

I was using the Laptop when there was a power surge/brief loss of power.  Since that time I get no power on the Laptop from the Battery or AC adapter.  The Adapter is good and the wall outlet are good.  Any ideas?

I have tried that already, but got no results.  I think my problem is a little bigger.  Is there possibly a fuse or something similar that could have gotten blown during the power surge?

    Thanks again.

Try disconnecting the power outlet and removing the battery for about 10 seconds.

Hope this helps

Where do I find the part number for the motherboard

Look near the memory slots. You will see labels. Also look all inside the board for labels. Write down the numbers you see on your motherboard. Then get on Ebay and look for motherboards for your laptop. The board on ebay will have model numbers on them, look for a number that matches what you wrote down.

Below is a link to the motherboards I found on eBay for Toshiba Satellite A100.

Can power on password be reset

It maybe possible to reset the Power on Password by removing the BIOS battery for 20 mins then insert the battery back into the motherboard.
If it does not reset the Power on password the this password is stored in an EEPROM chip and it is very difficult to remove and there are no backdoor passwords.

I have a toshiba satellite pro, i use for a 2 days and then it never turn on again. i try everything still not coming on. i need help please its a seccond hand laptop.

Try removing the battery and using just the power supply first, if this works then it is a battery fault, is that doesnt work then try another power suppy or get your power supply tested, if not either of these, then it may be the PSU connector inside the laptop

Hi I have a satellite l30-134 and I am unable to boot the laptop without the request for a bios password, I have tried everything I know can you help with some suggestions please, I can not even boot off...

Power on password. You will not be able to boot from anything until you disable this, even removing the CMOS battery wil not work.

Options are:

1.) Email Toshiba and get them to send you an unlock code
2.) Try visiting Dogberts site of reverese engineersing for his brute force pass cracker

If you feel confident, on this laptop there is a way of removing the password, I take no responsibility iof it goes wrong.

Remove the Ram module cover
Under the ram modules there are two contacts marked C88 and an X near them
Touch the two contacts with a screwdriver and power up the laptop, the bios screen should now go and you can access the laptop.

I have an A105-S2194, when I turn it on the power light come, the fan runs but nothing shows on the screen, I dont hear the HD but if I put a CD in it spins but still nothing on the screen nor any beeps?

this could be caused by a lot of things most commonly being the motherboard, but since there are so many causes the best solution would be sending the unit to a repair shop where they can correctly test and diagnose your machine. If you have a best buy store in your area they are toshiba certified.

I want to get a new mother board for my toshiba satellite A105-2001

for you laptop motherboard all you need is to give you supplier the model number of you laptop and they should be able to supply you with the exact, right motherboard because laptop of the same series will carry the same motherboard, the only difference might be the chipsets, but all your other hardware will be compatible to that motherboard. This is your model number you need: Toshiba Satellite A105-S2001
