Vertical Vent The vertical vent on KIRD862HSS is not rising. When I push the power button to activate nothing happens. Could it be a simple power switch problem or something else?

I had the same problem with mine. One of the removable screens had come off (partially). Unfortunately it was when it was in the down position. The person repairing it took something off underneath the stovetop and snapped the screen back it. It worked after that.

Have 75 gallon gas water heater. Can I run 90 PVC off top power vent without vertical PVC first? Have Richmond unit.

1) I believe you can immediately elbow the PVC pipe.
There is a limit for how many elbows can be used between blower and termination, and limit is determined by diameter of PVC pipe.

2) Copy following link for venting resources and typical Rheem and Richmond power vent manuals, and diameter-elbow pdf from Bradford White.

3) Richmond is Rheem. Product manual will show specifications for venting.
Product warranty is voided if installation does not follow specifications shown in manual.

The dryer does not "dry"

its probably not your dryer, have you checked your dryer vent hose or your vent pipe to see if there is blokage from the lint.some home's the vent pipe runs vertical to the roof top and the lint after time clogs it up.even if it runs horizontal it still need's to be checked this happens all the time you can use a higher power shop vac to clear the vent pipe,or you might have to get a small 25 ft drill snake and go from the roof down.

I purchased an aqua star 1600h-lp to be installed in a cottage. Question is, the cottage is heated with a large wood stove/fireplace. The water heater is located in a bathroom at the other end of the...

I would say that the wood fire/stove must have a heck of a draw to affect the bathroom heater. Maybe a separate air supply from outside via a pipe,to the stove meshed off against vermin would decrease the problem. Plus it could stop cold air being sucked across the room from an outside door.
Downdraft through the heater could happen with either vertical or horizontal vent. More important is the direction of the prevailing wind [horizontal] ingress of water/snow etc [vertical]
We often use the separate air supply in the UK and if the pipe bore is large enough 4" plus it seems to work ok.

When then start button is pushed nothing happens but a slight clicking from the cycles dial

You probably have a blow duct fuse, due to some sort of air flow restriction. Most duct fuses tie in with the door switch circuit and use smaller wires than heat load carrying circuits. Look for a duct fuse in between the blower wheel and the vent to outside. If the temp rapidly rises above 350f they melt and kill the dryer.

Is it normal to run a 16" vertical tie in to a horizontal exit

No, Exhaust vents on heaters should always maintain vertical orientation because heat rises and creates a natural drafting drawing the fumes out. You have a monoxide poisoning situation otherwise.

"Overheating warning"

This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the device and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source)
