Wii rockband guitar will not sync with system at all.

Purchased wii rockband and can not get the guitar to sync with the system. we are ok with the drums and mic, but the guitar wont work. this seems to be a huge problem and though threre are some ideas about how to make it work, there is nothing that seems to really work.
What needs to be done in order to get the guitar to sync....
Is purchasing a seperate new guitar for rockband the best solution?

Make sure that the guitar is on by the switch on the back of the guitar.

Call me crazy, but we had the same issue and just for kicks, tried hooking it up the way the book says for GH. It worked. Don't use the USB receiver, just put the controller in the back of the guitar, and give it a shot. The controller and receiver are NOT designed to work together, it is one or the other.

Our wii RockBand guitar won't strum

If you got the Rock Band 2 guitar then you'll have the same problem as with the Guitar Hero: World Tour controllers. There seems to be a large number of faulty controllers. It is best just to take the controller back to the shop you purchased the game from and get a replacement controller. If you are feeling brave, you can take the faceplate off the controller and open it up to have a look at the connections on the strum bar, but you will void the warranty if you do. You can use the D-pad in the mean time to strum.

Can't use drums for rockband on guitar world tour

The instruments for Rock Band and GH:WT are compatible on the PS3 and the Xbox 360, not the Wii. Blame Activision, the creators of GH:WT - they went a different route with hardware for the Wii that made things incompatible.

Can't get wireless guitar to work on rockband

I had this same problem.
In my case, the problem was that we bouht the guitar hero guitarm they told us to put the Wii remote inside the guitar and it will work.
What we found out was that those games have a matrix of compatiabilities. The Guitar hero guiar that you plug the Wii remote into the guitar, those DO NOT WORK with Rockband.
You have to buy another Rockband guitar, the guitar is $69.00 ad it comes with the second little square dongle thingy but it works.
If you look at the guitar for the guitar hero box, even the generic guitar that's made by Nyko, it says guitar hero on the box. it should say Guitar Hero ONLY...
Just return the cheap little $29.00 guitar and get the Rockband guitar and it will work. There are a series on sync procedures, try them all. Also go into the Rockbad game and sync the TV, basically you need t choose the TV type, rear projection, LCD, CRT etc... That will help the timing problems.

Sync lights on my Rockband guitar won't stop flashing.

It is probably broken but try and check to make sure the guitar is on and if it is then you need to let your guitar set for 1 day. I did that and mine worked the very next day.
