I have had my left button break to.

Took it back to where I brought it from to see how easy it was to replace and the technician there said that these laptops are built from the top down, meaning to replace the touchpad button you have to take the back cover off, take the motherboard etc out until you get to it. I would strongly reccomend taking it in or just buy a cheap usb mouse of trade me :-)

How do I get sound back onto my PC Laptop after installing usb to hdmi converter?

First remove everything you installed, hardware but more important all software and drivers. Perhaps you even should try to put it back to the state it was in before you started installing the converter..
Only then, when you really have sound again, reinstall and after every step check if you still have sound.
At least that would be my way of solving this.
And hope it is only a software or settings problem.

Touch pad doesn't work

Determine What's Wrong
laptop'smag-glass_10x10.gif touch pad basically provides the functionality of a mouse for a desktop PC, typically with two buttons located just below it acting as the left and right click buttons on a desktop computer. A touch pad may be damaged by excessive use or foreign substances such as water, dirt or food items.

Hit the "Windows" button on the keyboard and then use the right-left keys (or hit 'C') to open "Control Panel." From there, again use the right-left keys to get to "Mouse" and then hit "Return."

Use the right-left keys to toggle between the tabs and open each to investigate whether any boxes had been improperly clicked by accident that cause the touch pad to become unresponsive. But if any of these steps fail to remedy the problem, then the touch pad may need to be repaired or replaced.

Repairing/Replacing TouchpadA touch pad assembly cost $100 or more and that's not including replacement installation. Hiring a specialist to replace a damaged touch pad, including parts and labor, may easily cost $200. Unless the laptop in question is worth well over $1,000 and the touch pad is deemed a necessity, such repairs are rarely worth the cost.

Attempting to replace the touch pad without certain expertise in laptop assembly may be dangerous and/or destructive. Also, getting a replacement part that's not compatible with the laptop may have catastrophic results, including irreversible damage to the laptop. So just attach a mouse to it so you can work easily. Please rate me if this solution works for you

Thanks......Have a great time.

Mouse button is broken

Hi:

The touchpad and mouse buttons can be replaced, but it involves some serious disassembly of the laptop to do so, and I don't recommend trying it unless you have laptop repair experience.
A inexpensive alternative is to buy a wireless or wired mouse , and plug it into one of your usb ports. Most new mice , especially ones from microsoft come with software that disables the onboard mouse when you plug in a external one, and that would take care of your problem!

Compaq Presario V4000 CD ROM and Left Mouse Button do not work

They could right in that viruses can plague a computer certain ways. But, in three weeks I would think they could remove the viruses, run SFC or Dial-aFix to return your protected files, or even do s sytem repair. Seems like it was there too long. I would not order the a new operating system. As long as the key is on your machine, you own a copy. Best Buy knows this and can repair your operating system with this key. Your hard drive operating system could need restoring but most certainly they should have done this for you. I would go back to their store and ask for the manager. Take of copy of this letter if you wish. If the hardware is OK then they should have repaired the software.

Bottom left mouse buton sticks does not feel right

That can be tricky, but I have done it taking a really small flat head precission screwdriver and going along the edges. Just be go slow and careful. Another option would be to just get a USB mouse to hook to your laptop.

Acer Aspire 5003 Touchpad button problems (Hardware)

Tou will usually require the entire palmrest to be replaced if the plastic has snapped. if the plastic is still strong and you just want the "click" back everytime you press it then you will have to replace the inside of the button on the mobo or the button itself. Cheapest option would be to use an external mouse. If not and you dont feel comfortable repairing it yourself then it should be a fairly simple repair for a competent repair guy.
