Question about White Sewing 1418 Mechanical Sewing Machine

1 Answer

Missing Manual Around 1991 I purchased a White Jeans Machine Model 1750. Haven't used it for 15 years. Can't find manual and can't get the needle into the spot on the bobbin where it enters to catch the bobbin thread. Do you have any idea where I can get the manual (been searching for quite a while) or how to get the needle down in to get the bobbin thread to catch? Do you have a picture of just how the bobbin case goes in? Maybe I don't quite have it in right. Please Help if you can. Thank you. Michele

I know that this is a large request, but I cannot read it?! Do you think that you could write out the instructions? Also, and more complicated, do you think that you could scan and do the same or just write out the instructions for threading the machine? I am having the hardest time finding people to help me with this. I really appreciate it!

What type of needle I need for our White Blue Jeans sewing machine Model 1577?

it depends on what type of fabric your using for the sewing project or even if it's to repair like a pair of pants like blue jeans you would want a denim needle

if you do not have a manual they have a free PDF download at singer .com---just follow these steps
Go to the singer website
Go to the home page
At the bottom of the page look for instruction manual--click on it
It will take you to another page
In the box put the model number (example w1577 ) & click search

I have a Baby Lock Pro Denim model 1750 sewing machine. Where can I download the instruction manual?

I haven't been able to locate a free download for any Baby Lock model in all of my searches over the months. However, you can download a manual for this model for $10 at http://www.sewingmanualsonline.com/instruction-manual-babylock-1750.aspx. Not too bad to know how to use your machine.

Tension adjustments- bobbin metal or plastic-needle size- for sewing on jean cloth

Most machines can sew on jeans fabric, but you may need to go slowly or even hand-turn the needle when crossing thick seams to keep from bending or breaking your needle.

Bobbin: It won't matter if you use plastic or metal bobbins.

Needle: You should use a heavier needle - you can purchase 'jeans' needles, or use the heaviest sharp or universal needle you have.

Tension: For tension adjustment, you can follow the guidelines in your sewing machine manual but you'll also need to adjust the tension based on sewing on scraps of the fabric. If you are sewing light-weight denim, the settings are pretty much the default/normal settings. As you increase the weight/thickness of the fabric and seams to cross, you'll need to loosen your pressure foot tension. If you use decorative 'jeans' thread or topstitching thread, you'll need to loosen your needle tension.
*Always test on scrap fabric to make sure the stitches are forming properly. It is best to make small adjustments to your tension settings, then test, then adjust and test, until it is right. If you sew that weight of fabric often, make note of your tension settings inside your machine manual to save you some time the next time you sew.
I hope this helps.

Hi, I purchased my Sapphire330 in Jan 09 and use it maybe 2 hours per week. I began having issues when I hemmed a pair of jeans. I followed and set all the right settings (as the manual instructs) and...

sounds like when it jammed and broke the needles, the hook/needle timing got out of line. How does a zig zag stitch look? A wide zig zag stitch should have a dot of the upper thread on each side on the back where it enters the fabric. The bobbin thread should be seen from back crossing back and forth. Use different colored threads for top and bottom threading so you can see the difference. Good luck.
