Use of AC wall plug with switch

My new phone system WDSS5335 + 2 says to use a wall AC plug with no switch on. We do not have one in the house all our AC wall plugs have isolation switches. Why can i not use one of the AC plugs in the house as the new phone will be no good to us

    thanks for your response but i am referring to the three pinned AC wall plug for the 240 volt adaptor. my wall plug has a isolation swith to turn of appliances as required. The instructions state that the wall plug must not have a switch if that is the case i need a electrictian to wire three new plugs which is expensive. What difference does it make

I think they are referring to a wall plug that has a light switch to turn it on and off.
As long as your phone system uses a normal phone plug you should be fine.

    Well, as long as the switch remains ON, that should not cause a problem.

    However, turning off the power is bad for phone systems. It is the same as just unplugging your computer when it is running. Eventually, it stops working, and must be re-built.

    Having seperate lines installed would elimitate any accidents. Or you can just put some tape over the switch, and say "Don't touch!".

    Choice is yours.
