Re: Blue Screen

This is a common problem in our field. For this problem u can do only one thing i.e. repair. For reparing your operating system Be carefull. Because your silly mistake loss your files. First make your system first bootable disk to cd/dvd rom in your BIOS. Or make first bootable device to your cd/dvd rom. Insert your bootable cd to your cd/dvd rom. It will ask press any to boot forn cd. u just press any key. Your system will start setup. After completing your setup your system will automatic restart. After some time some option will come. Like For reparing Press 'R' Escape without complete your setup press 'Esc'. For installation press 'Enter' If this option comes first time U just press enter button. After that before formating Same question will ask by your computer system at this time You just press 'R' Some times it will start to copy system files in your HDD. But some times it will show select os C:\Windows press 1 It will come c:\windows in widows directory type 'chkdsk' and press enter. Like c:\windows\chkdsk press enter It will start to repair your system. Don't worry your data will be safe. after finished u restart your pc and work as usual. good luck Purushotam

Re: Blue Screen

Usually when you get a blue screen an error shows up on the page. This error can assist in solving the problem! The error is something like STOP 0x00000000 You might need to try it one more time to get the stop error! Write down any error messages or filenames of the screen! cause sometimes stop errors are caused by faulty programs! Search for the meaning of the stop error or post back information to this post so that i can see what could be the problem! Another question, Do you have sp2 installed? regards, babb

Pc keep rebooting at windows screen when turned on

Did you install any hardware or windows updates? The reason its restarting is its getting a blue screen error but its setup to restart on error so its happening so fast you dont get to see the error..... Try hitting F8 right after the boot screen to get some windows options and try to enter into safemode.... If you can odds are its related to a windows update or something newly installed

The pc starts and loads. Then the blue windows xp screen comes up and it wont do anything else exept let me move my mouse pointer around the screen

Restart your computer and then press and hold F8 keys until you get Advanced Options menu screen.Use the arrow key to highlight Safe Mode, and then press Enter, your computer will boot automatically to safe mode.
If you able to start in the safe mode then you need to update all your drivers and install all windows updates from Windows update and scan your computer for viruses! And I also suggest you to run CMD as administrator and write in CMD without quotes"sfc/scannow"
this will fix blue screen error.
If problem still exists, then get the reliable program like PC Fresher to fix your annoying blue screen problem.

I have a dell optiplex 380 with windows xp on it and it froze on a light blue screen and all it had on it is the windows xp logo and says microsoft underneath it in the middle of the screen but a little to...

Restart the computer and Tap F8 to boot to safe mode. Once you see the options, then use the arrow keys to highlight safe mode and hit enter. Once you are inside safe mode, then do the system restore from there.

Click on start > programs > accessories > system tools > system restore

Select a restoration point and launch it.

If you can't go to safe mode, please drop me a line and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

How to soft boot a dell 4600

I used the reset button on my last one whenever ctrl/alt/del failed to soft boot
my computer.

Here is what Dell Chat tells me to do if ctrl/alt/del doesn't work:

Turn off the system from the power button. Remove the plug to the
power supply from the back off the system tower. Then hold the power
button on the tower down for 10 secs ( with the power cord removed).
Reconnect the power cord and then restart the system. This time do a
normal shutdown.

Blue Screen

When the computer first boots up, press the F8 key when the eMachines logo is replaced by the first Microsoft screen, then select Safe Mode from the list. If the computer will not boot in Safe Mode, you will need to boot from your Windows CD and select the repair installation option. If you can boot in Safe Mode, you will need to find out what is causing the system to reboot during startup. With the msconfig utility, disable all unnecessary startup programs and services, then try restarting the computer normally. If this works, you need to use the msconfig utility to add the startup programs and services back one-by-one until it fails to boot again (to locate your troublemaker). Keep repeating this until all services and programs (except the one causing the problem) are back in the lineup.

Windows xp logo will start to load then......

To solve this will require more information from you. The Blue screen is Windows way of telling you that it has a driver issue with a basic component, usually your video card. Did you recently make any hardware changes? If so please let me know what was changed.

When windows first boots, you can repeatedly press the F8 key until you see a menu giving you choices of windows booting. You need to select Safe Mode. Safe mode should allow you to at least boot without a blue screen. The blue screen could also be cause by a virus or other software.

Microsoft has a description of Safe mode here;
but here is a quick snippet
To use a Safe Boot option, follow these steps:
  1. Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.
  2. Select an option when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, and then press ENTER.
  3. When the Boot menu appears again, and the words "Safe Mode" appear in blue at the bottom, select the installation that you want to start, and then press ENTER.
