Question about Samsung SGH-i900 Omnia Unlocked Cellular Phone
My Samsung Omnia is just two months old and hardly ever used but two weeks ago i noticed that it just goes off on it own without me realising it, sometimes as much as four to five times a day even when the battery is fully charged
Before you go and try and update the software on the phone it is always best to try the easiest soloution first.
The problem may just simply be a power management problem so try this.
1. On the main screen at the bottom task bar you should see phone on the left and main menu on the right. Now click main menu.
2. Now click settings
3. Now you see 3 tabs at the bottom. Personal, System and connections. Press the system tab.
4. On the new screen scroll down to the bottom and you should see power with a battery icon. Click it.
5. Now on this screen you see another 3 tabs at the bottom (there are actual 7 which are obtain through scroll), battery, battery power and external power. Click battery power.
6. On this screen you will see that it can be set to turn of if not used after so many minutes so changing these settings may solve your problem.
I hope this is useful??

Try updating the software for the phone, you should have the program on the cdrom, or try the samsung website and download it, re installinf the software will sort out this fault, if it doesnt then take the phone to a service centre as the hardware may me faulty, usually 95% of the time reinstalling the latest software always works

I have an Omnia, it has now been back to Vodafone 3 times all with electrical faults - phone is 100% rubbish, it looks great and sounds great but thats it. DON'T BUY IT. Vodafone UK have stopped selling it. I have nothing but faults. utter rubbish.

I got the same problem a few days ago. I noticed that it's my cootek touchpal that's causing the problem in suspend mode. The solution is simple: get a register editor, goto HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\State\Suspend, and add "sip0:" dword 2. This will stop the soft keyboard from going into power state 3. It fixed my problem head on. Hope this helps to others as well.

Hi I to have had a similiar problem , when I tried to turn my phone on it just kept turning off and on. so i went to my applacations and deleted Gmail, you see samsung cant work with the gmail app on it , I dont think you downloaded that app, but I have another solution!!!!, turn on your phone and enter *2767*3855# in the same place you would enter the phone number. this will reset all factory settings and delete all contacts and anything you put in. so take out the micro sd card if you have one . and put this number in. now dont do it if you found a safer way. this number works with all samsungs but you never know this could end badly, but that hasent happened yet, so dont blame me,, okay solution 3!!!! go to one of the virgin mobile places and get a new phone for free!!! if it has only been two months you can get a new one :]
well I hope I helped bye :]...................by the way this might have spelling errors
