Question about HP OfficeJet 7410 All-In-One InkJet Printer

HP invent picture is on but "ON" switch doesn't work

Printer obviously has power. Power connections are good, It's wireless, no cables, just a phone and phone connection for faxes. Unplugging and plugging the power module, switching the wireless box on and off changed nothing. Power module is probably good since it has power. I suspect the printer is bad. Uninstalling and reinstalling the printer software didn't do anything - couldn't find the printer.

So is there any way you would be able to plug it up and see if it can connect over cat5 or USB? It is possible the drivers are installed wrong and need to be reinstalled or it could be something to do with your network setup. See if the printer is installed in Printers in Control Panel and if so check the network settings of the printer setup and verify that it will work with your home network, IE on the same subnet.

Probably a wireless problem if the printer is powering on.

My Hp 6500 wireless won't do anything. The keypad on it won't even work. Any thoughts?

You don't say what trouble shooting you've done. So lets start with the basics: 1) make sure your power cable is plugged all the way in from the back of the printer to the power strip. Make sure your power strip is on. (cannot tell you how many times this has been my problem). Make sure the plugs on both sides of the transformer (the black box in the power cable) are plugged all the way in. I'd unplug and replug everything.
2) The power button on this machine is not real obvious. It is to the left and aligned with the top of the control panel screen. I've attached a picture.
3) if that doesn't do anything open the cartridge access panel. The machine should light up, give you an error message on the control panel.
4) if none of these work and you've rechecked your power, I'd take it back to where you purchased it.

Hp7410 Wont turn on and function, power light doesnt come on and the HP Invent Logo keeps cycling on and off

you might want to check to see if the wireless for this machine is connected to main pcb, if so, disconnect, you will have to pull off the back of the machine, requires #10 torq bit, cable is a 4 wire cable, it travles from right of machine to left of machine, the only other cables that travel from right to left, is speaker cable, only 2 wire, and then the doc feed cable, which has 8 to 10 wires on it. if problem still continues, then main pcb will need to be replaced.

Display screen stuck on hp invent - buttons don't work

This is apparently a common problem with this model, but HP has not offered any help with it. Mine did it a few weeks ago and I found the solution in another thread on fixya. Follow this link and then open the back of the printer and disconnect the wireless card as described by Maggix. It will kill your wireless capability but let the printer start working again.

1. plug something else into the plug to make sure it is live.
2. make sure the power cable is firmly inserted into the back of the machine.
3. make sure the power switch is in the on position.
If this doesn't solve the problem then the machine needs a high voltage power supply or a DC controller. Good Luck!
