Re: hp mouse problem

Hi my new hp bluetooth laser mouse does not work. It will work, then when you switch users, or turn off the computer and then turn it back on, it stops working and will not work after that.

Mouse sensitivity is slow.i want more then more speed of mouse pointer,i already search but nothing...pleas SIR

These are the steps to change the mouse sensitivity

Click on the "Start" button in the lower left corner of your computer screen to open the Start menu so you can change the mouse sensitivity. Locate the control panel link on the right-hand column of the Start menu and click on the link.

Wait for the Control Panel manu to open and then locate the "Search Control Panel" bar at the top of the menu on the the right-hand side. Type in "mouse" (no quote marks) in the window and locate the mouse menu at the top, left side of the menu.

Locate the link that says "Change Button Settings" at the bottom of the mouse menu and click on the link. When the mouse properties window appears, locate the tabs at the top of the window and find the one that says "Pointer Options."

Click on the "Pointer Options" window tab and locate the heading that says "Motion." In the Motion section, find the slide ajustment bar that is labeled "Slow" on the left side and "Fast" on the right side of the bar.

Move the bar according to your desired speed and preferences, and click on the "Apply" button on the lower right-hand side of the window.

Click the "OK" button on the lower left-hand side of the window, which will take you back to the default window. Verify that the mouse sensitivity is according to your needs and readjust if necessary by repeating these steps.

I bought a mouse (HP Wireless Optical Mobile Mouse (VK479AA)) and I can't hold down the keys. By that I mean when I hold the button down, it isn't held, instead, the computer thinks I'm constantly pressing...

I have the same problem. I posted on HP forum but did not get any help. I contacted HP technical support. They sent me a new mouse but it behaves the same way.

I can't hold the left button down and drag pictures or icons on the desktop.

Check if the mouse has been aligned for to be used by Left-Handed or RIght Handed people. If the settings are correct try reinstalling the drivers for the mouse. If that doesnt help either, try replacin the mouse and see if that helps.

Mouse moves too fast

You can always control mouse pointer motion (speed), by using Mouse Option in Control Pannel. Open Mouse option in control pannel. Here you can go to Pointor Motion, now move the slider to left side. Click on Apply and check mouse speed. When you get the required speed, Click OK.

My cordless optical mouse is slow dragging across the screen. When first used it is fine but then slows down. Ideas anyone?

Try this...

Go to Control Panel > Mouse > Pointer Option

There you can increase the pointer speed/motion.

I hope this helps. If not please inform me. I will see what else I could do.

Try changing the pointer speed of your touchpad:

2. Select Mouse
3. Click Pointer Options
4. Adjust the motion speed to fast (whichever you prefer)

Hope this helps.

There is nothing wrong with the mouse and if you install another new mouse it will most likely do the same thing. Here is what you do. Assuming you have windows click where it says start at the bottom right of your screen. Then click on the option "control panel" If you have windows xp you will click on "printers and other hardware". Then click mouse. This should bring up a picture of your mouse and a tabbed menu. You will go to the tab that says motion and you will be able to adjust the cursor speed via a sliding bar. Let me know if you need any more guidance.
Take Care
