Question about Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 Web Cam
I bought two logitech 9000 webcams at Christmas, one at my end, the other for my son in Santa Monica. He has a Dell 1720 laptop with a built-in webcam, but I didn't care for the picture quality, hence, I sent him the 9000. Offline, the camera works fine. Problem is when we connect (via Windows Live Messenger) his laptop goes to the built-in webcam.
We are unable to discover how to override the built in webcam so the Logitech 9000 takes over. Tried the camera selector in the Logitech softwre, but it only shows the 9000. could nopt find any useful info on the Dell site looking through the user manual.
Right click on My Computer and click on PROPERTIES.
Then click on DEVICE MANAGER, and then click on Imaging Devices.
Next click on the + and then on the camera, right click and then click on DISABLE.
Then click on the Red X in the upper LEFT corner.
Then get out of that and install your new camera.
Make sure to disconnecting the Camera from the USB port and reinstall the software program. When the program asks you to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.
Hope this helps. Bud
