Hi, my 2 wire ATT wireless broad band Internet router isn't working. Flashing red lights notes

You need to RESET router then configure it .For that press hold RESET button for 10 seconds then all settings defaults. Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. Then configure wan settings and lan settings enable wireless if you want to use wifi . Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

How to set up wep security on a linksys router that was already set up with no password it is a linksys wrt54g on lrouter a dsl network

Hi
Begin setup of your Linksys Wireless Router by first plugging in the power. Give it 10 seconds or so to initialize and then plug an ethernet cable into your wall jack and into the port on the back of the router marked Internet. Next get another ethernet cable and plug one end into your laptop and the other into one of the ports labeled 1-4 on the router. Your computer is now properly connected to the router to begin its setup and configuration.
thanks & rgds

Taking forever to configure computer on reinstallation of wrt54g

Are you trying to set up router ?
You can set up your router manually, without the CD.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online directly through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem, that means the modem is working fine.
You will need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

Need to restart wired computer to connect laptop to wireless router. wired computer is dell e520 using windows vista. router is linksys wrt54g ver 6.Laptop sometimes gets connected by another network, not...

To connect to your wireless router, it needs the router’s wireless settings configured and also needs the wireless cards in all the laptops and or computers to be configured with the router’s wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktop computers can communicate with your wireless router.

To set-up and secure the wireless router from unauthorized access, follow these steps: -
1. Connect the wireless router to your computer with a LAN cable.
2. Start your browser and enter the router's configuration URL IP address.
3. Enter the router setup, login and password
4. Change the admin password
5. Go to the wireless settings and change the default SSID and turn off SSID broadcast.
6. Setup encryption key the strongest is WPA2 (if not then WPA).
7. For further security measures - turn on MAC address filtering and enter the MAC address of the wireless cards on the computer/s you want to connect to this wireless router.
8. Record the settings you have made and keep it in a safe place and Save the settings.
9. Configure the wireless cards on the computer/s with the SSID and encryption settings of the router.
10. Remove the LAN cable between the router and the computer then the computers should be able to connect to the router wirelessly.
To access the Internet you need to connect the DSL or cable modem to the WAN (Internet) port on the wireless router.

Help set up wireless router

It's better to connect a computer using a cable when configuring a router. establish a wired connection first before running wireless to make sure that the router has been configured.

1. connect your computer to any of the LAN ports of the router

2. Connect your modem to the WAN or Internet port of the router

3. restart your computer

4. Type http://192.168.0.1 in your browser's URL interface.

5. go to connection setting and select the type of connection required by your ISP then save the settings.

Regarding your response....

Do you have any hard wired computer which is going online..if yes try the following steps
  1. Open an Internet explorer and type the router IP address which would be either http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 (by default, refer to your product documentation ti determine the default IP address.) in the address bar and press Enter.
The Login window will be prompting for a Username and Password. The default Username is admin and the default Password is password
  2. Click Wireless Settings under Setup menu.you will find your key..
if not connect your laptop directly to the router with a cable and check if you are able to go online..and the try the steps, if not you have to start over from the begining

D-link di-524up configuring router with bigpond

Hello cook_ka

You can find information about and downloads for your "DI-524UP 54 Mbps Wireless Broadband Router Plus Print Server" HERE on D-Link's Australia & New Zealand regional web site.

You can find its product manual HERE. Please, download this manual. (You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader or another PDF file reader in order to open the file.)

In order to access the router and get it configured initially, connect a computer to any one of the router LAN ports (NOT the WAN port) using an Ethernet patch cable.

The instructions for configuring your router begin on page 8 of the product manual.

This router has a configuration wizard as well. Instructions for using the configuration wizard begin on page 10 of the manual.

NOTE-1: The default IP address of your router is 192.168.0.1

NOTE-2: Don't try to access the router wirelessly until you have the router configured and your connection to the Internet working (using a "wired" connection from your computer to the router).

NOTE-3: I assume that, since your ISP is BigPond, that your Internet access connection is ADSL. In that case, you are going to need your ADSL login credentials (primary account user name and password) in order to configure the WAN side of your router settings.

Please, let us know if this information was helpful to you or, of course, if you have any further questions.
