Screen is gray and Vizio sign on front of tv comes on white but when trying to press any of the buttons on the remote or on the TV I cannot get a picture. Ive tried resetting the TV and everything and nothing happens. Can anyone help?!!!!!
This sounds like a problem with the main board in the TV. The main board is similar to the motherboard in a computer. You will need a professional to repair/order the parts. I would strongly recommend looking into purchasing a new TV rather than have this one repaired. In most cases the repair for a main board would be within a couple hundred dollars of a new set and often will not last very long.

I ran into the same problem within 14 months of ownership. Seems the expiration of my warranty conveniently coincided with the expiration of the Visio television...I am now the proud owner of a $1000 brick. A call to support ended with a repair quote of over $500! A painful lesson, but Vizio will not be seeing any more of my money...I'll spend that $500 on a QUALITY television.

Old messages and bcipollina is gonna get to read this resonse twice; sorry-
If it just fails to turn on or ignores the remote, the
main power supply is probably at
fault and without some technical background and a couple of test instruments,
you will not be able to do the repair yourself.
What you can do though is; unplug the set, let it
stand overnight or at least several hours, remove the back panel and look for a
separate board with mostly larger components on it; it will have a ferrite core
transformer on it and several larger capacitors which are cylindrical and
mounted vertically to the board.
Before touching anything inside,
especially on that board, allow several hours to be safe since the larger
capacitors can hold a painful voltage charge for some hours.
If you see signs of overheating
such as discoloration of the board material, it may not be repairable but if
you can find a part number on the board, you might be able to buy the power
supply and install it yourself.
If there are no signs of heat
damage to the board, there may be companies offering to repair it as a
subassembly instead of repairing the whole set which could be much more
expensive.
If you choose to replace or have it done, the power supply still may not be at fault since most
are capable of switching on and off if a downstream problem is causing an
overload.
BTW, from what I have read about Vizio, I think they are close relatives to iLo which was also sold by Wal-Mart.
Quality control anyone?

SOURCE: Panasonic remote and volume/channel buttons do not work
My son put a penny in the SD card slot of my Pansonic flat screen tv. I finally got the penny out but now the volume and tv controls do not work. I can change the channels through my cable box but that is it. The volume does not work on my cable remote or the flatscreen. What do you suggest I do to fix this problem?? Thanks, Josh

There are 4 capacitors on the power supply board that need to be replace. They are in the same area, same color, look for bulged caps.
