I don't know if you have this problem but I had a similar problem aswell. My TV remote and my universal remote wouldn't turn on or perform any of the funtions as they should. This is what I did to fix it:
1. unplug the TV from the power outlet.
2. take the batteries out of your TV remote.
3. press the power button on the TV remote, and then press every other single button one by one from left to right (as if you were reading a book).
4. plug the power cord back in the power outlet.
5. replace the batteries in your TV remote.
6. try turning on the TV using the factory remote.
These steps, as weird as they sound, worked just fine for me. My TV is now responding to my remote and my cable remote is able to control the TV again. No, I did not loose the universal (cable) remote's TV codes. FYI. the steps mentioned above were performed using the TV native remote (factory remote). Hope this will work out for you as well. And if you are wondering how I knew this would work, well I saw the same steps on another website (sorry I can't remember which website it was) and decided to give it a try before I took the TV back to BestBuy for warranty repair...which would have taken like two weeks.

on most universals you selct TV + SET a light comes on either steady or flashes enter the code, light goes out PRESS SET again then try turning TV off/on if didn't work, try next 4 digits until you find the right one. Make a note so you can remember it next time. Be aware that sometimes if the DVD is pressed the TV wont appear to work.. just selct TV and then press on/off and it reverts to the saved code. It hasn't lost it just that you moved the selection to another device. Please rate my help++++Thyanks for using FIXYA
You may also have a capacitor that is going bad or is on the verge of going poof. Anyhow, check for any leakage on the PCB and if you have a capacitor checker check all the caps. Visual inspection may find it as well...Good luck technician. GURU JAY
Yuor TV has an issue particularly in the power supply section with regards to the loose components. This issue can be best addressed by having your units' circuitry be resoldered before it could damage some parts.
