Question about InFocus (HW-HTSCREEN76) 76" 16:9 Projector Screen

1 Answer

Projector emitting sparks

My 6 month old refurbrished Infocus 76 projector was working fine when all of a sudden the bulb quit, smoke and light started flashing from within the unit and then some sparks making loud arcing sounds. The violence quit, the power light on the projector was blinking red with a high pitch whining type sound until I pulled the plug. I did pull it as quickly as I could, took time to get to the unit from where I was sitting.

I removed the bulb thinking this may be the problem, but the blub looks great and no burn marks in that area of the housing. I did not open the case any further.

The projector is being used for home/indoors.

The ballast blew and needs replacing. if it was the power supply, the led wouldn't be on.

Where could I get the plastic lens for my infocus 61md10

Remove the little plastic lens and throw it away. There is no replacement available anyway. Reassemble the tv and it should work fine. Mine has been good for quite a while now.

My infocus IN1 projector won't turn on anymore.

Hi,
It may be the lamp is out. Normally a projector will try & fire the lamp 3-5 times then shut down with a different color light like amber or red. If the lamp doesn't light then it could be the lamp or perhaps the lamp ballast that starts the lamp has failed. A stuck fan also causes similar symptoms. There's 2-4 fans in the projector if one is stuck or bad it will turn off within 5 seconds or so after the lamp lights.
Does your lamp light at all? Are the lights a different color after it shuts down? Answers to these questions help figure out what's wrong though it's impossible to say for sure without looking at it. I service almost all Infocus projectors if you would like a quote please reply with your email address or write me at prmhelp@earthlink.net
Good Luck,
Jim

Infocus X1a LONG startup times

Sounds like the power supply is weak if it has to run for awhile before it functions. The control board could also be the issue. Does it make any grinding or buzzing noises?

sounds like the color wheel isnt spinning at the right index speed, most likely due to bad bearings in the color wheel.

Problem with Toshiba DLP Projection TV Model #52HM84

It is possible the lamps may be defective or that they may be the wrong replacement for this model, as it may have a different wattage setup with the ballast. If you want to try to order the TB25 lamp from a different vendor, you can order the original Toshiba replacement lamp for this model (52HM84) from a major Toshiba parts distributor at the link below:
