Question about Toshiba Computers & Internet
How old is the system? It is possible that the drop with the power turned on caused a surge that damaged the internal power system.
Make sure that you have let the new battery charge for at least 8 hours and then see if the system will run off just battery power. The green light on the power supply means it is getting power and the amber light on the battery means that it is being charged. it shoudl go to green when fully charged.
After a full charge and the system will not run just on battery, then you have a faulty power system on the motherboard. That requires bench time and may not be worth the costs to repai, but that that will depend on the skill of the tech who checks it.
