Question about 3Com NBX 2102 IP Phone

NBX We have a NBX 3000 on R5_0_28, audio fades in and out when users make a call, also sometimes they experence 1 way audio. This is not happening on every call.

Could possibly be a short in the demarc. I would have a technician check the wiring.

Are you saying that the phone boots up and has the extension on the display but when called by another phone it is busy?

This is a phone company recording and is normal for a call that can't complete. It has nothing to do with the phone system.

Hi,
At Two scenarios it will be happening.
1. When your phones act as a intercom.
2. When your server settings are enabled with auto-answer option.

Check with server admin.

Bought 3c0m nbx100 off ebay and do not have the password. Version is R5.4 I logged into to com port but unable to find the password.


Default Password is 0000 or 00000000 or Reboot into previous version and change password to an alphanumeric password The word "administrator" has to be entered as the User Name. this pdf could help (http://support.3com.com/infodeli/tools/nbx/50/docs/admin_nbx50.pdf) and this pdf will tell you how to update the machine to a newer version or if it is in the newest version you must downgrade it just folow the instructions on this pdf (http://support.3com.com/infodeli/tools/nbx/60/upgr_nbx60.pdf) or you could try and Connect a PC to the console port of the NBX (9600 baud, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity)1. All commands are case sensitive. At the NBX or SS3 Prompt type nbxDb. NBXs response- DBITEST (? for help):
2. At the DBITEST prompt type X.NBXs response-encrypted admin pass ---> (!Ofm0uealStEsrx1) 3. This sounds like you have a phantom user as a member of your incoming hunt group. Meaning you have a user extesion without a phone associated to it (just a mailbox). Check your hunt groups and make sure there aren't any phantom users in them. If so, remove them and this will stop happening.

NBX 3000: Can't access WEB UI or Ping - System still up.


There is most likely another device on the network with the same IP as the phone system. You can check this by un plugging the link to the phone system (after hours of course) and then pinging the IP of the phone system. If you get a reply while the link is disconnected then you know there is a duplicate IP on the network. You can use your server to try to identify the device or use a IP scanner like NetScanTools to ID it. You could also try changing the IP address of the phone system and see if you have the same problem.

My NBX V3000 suddenlny is frozen. the NBX hang, no dial tone on the phones, not accessible from the network, can't receive outside calls. The access to the NBX via Hyper terminal is possible during the...


Are you trying to forward calls in circular from 1 extension to the next. Like 101 to 102 back to 101. If not I would purge the database and start over. Export user data so you can see the Mac address of each phone and it will be easy to reconfigure the extensions. Do not import the Data. Start from scratch.

3com NBX phone number of rings setting problem.


Delete the MAc Address from the system and delete the user account. Re add the phone.
