The arms and legs of shirts and pants coming out of our kenmore dryer are twisted and the items are more tangled together than ever before. Any ideas?

Tip

SENSOR DRY IN SAMSUNG DRYERS

As a tech, I'm constantly fielding questions about loads of clothes not drying properly in the larger Samsung dryers--and this tip can be used for a lot of dryers with the sensor-dry feature. Sensor drying uses a pair of metal strips located on the filter holder or on the back wall in the dryer. When wet clothes rub against the strips, this sends a signal to the main board which tells the dryer to keep going. Unless large loads are used, the consumer should use "timed dry". This is because smaller loads won't hit the sensor strips often enough and cause the computer to count down too rapidly. Also, consumers should try to make sure like items are placed with like items( shirts with shirts, pants with pants, towels with towels, etc) Thick clothing(jeans, heavy sweatshirts, etc.) usually will have damp spots like pockets due to the moisture not being able to contact the sensor strips--the technology is not 100%. Also, if there are problems with the timer starting to count down too rapidly all the time, and dryer sheets are used, the sensor strips may be coated with a waxy layer. Use some super fine emory cloth to polish the coating off of the sensor strips. You very well might find that the problem is solved and not have to initiate a service call!

How to install dryer rack in kenmore HE3 dryer

Open your Kenmore HE3 dryer door. Look for the ledge on the inside rear of the dryer wall.

Insert the rear wire leg of the dryer rack into the drum, resting the wire leg on top of the ledge. The front frame should rest over the dryer lint screen.

Push down on the top of the front frame of the dryer rack to secure it over the dryer lint screen frame. Close the dryer door once you load your items on the rack.

THE DRYER WORKS BUT HEAT IS NOT COMING OUT TO DRY THE CLOTHS

I suspect that your heater strips have gone open. they consist of curled nichrome wire in a pan offset by insulators. They are fed by the 220 v power of the dryer. You ncan get a replacement at a plumbing and heating supply store, as they are pretty much universal items made for dryers. I have replaced three over the 40 year to date of my dryer. You get to it by removing the back plate of the dryer, but be sure you disconnect the power first. As an emergency, you can twist the ends of the nichrome wire together, but not too much twisting as they will snap easily.

Routing dryer belt for kenmore 11060702990

rap the belt around the drum ribs down,if you get your pants belt and fold it in half and pinch it around 4 inches from the folded part that's how the belt will look when it goes around the pulley, your fingers are the pulley and the loop that's on the end goes onto the motor, pinch the belt together and the loop that's left on the end goes onto the motor

Dryer is leaving brown streaks on cotton clothes

To all victims of the brownish colored streak marks: I share your frustration!!! I have the same problem with my dryer which started when my dryer was only 3 or 4 years old - - totally unacceptable for an expensive top of the line dryer! A repair guy showed me how the brownish streak marks come from the felt liner which goes around the drum. Look inside your dryer for the beige or tan colored felt which sticks out around the circular drum. If you rub the felt with an old white t-shirt or paper towel, you will see the same brownish colored marks. My repairman recommended getting the felt replaced eventually, but until then, he gave me the following tips which really help avoid getting the streaks: For white or light colored clothes susceptible to the brownish streak marks: I dry these items as part of a very lightweight dryer load - with just a few other lightweight items. By doing a small lightweight load, clothing is less likely to get caught up & rub against the felt edges. For example, I dry 4 light colored men's dress shirts with 2 or 3 other lightweight shirts. OR for white or light colored athletic "dry fit" type athletic apparel, I dry 6 - 8 total lightweight shirts/shorts. If I throw my white Nike top or white pair of summer pants into the dryer with all my "whites", they will be doomed to getting brownish streaks due to the heavy load pushing them against the darned felt liner! Whenever possible, I wash susceptible items on permanent press to avoid wrinkling, then hang dry. Prior to putting these clothes in the dryer, I also "pre-clean" the felt with an old white cotton t-shirt by reaching into the dryer and rubbing along the felt edges until I'm not getting as much brownish color on the t-shirt rag. For a permanent fix, call a repairman or see the following do-it-yourself YouTube video on "Dryer Repair - Replacing the Lower Front Drum Felt Seal": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XoYP_YsGP68 . I have a repair person coming today to fix 2 other appliances, so I'm finally getting my dryer fixed, and I will post an update soon.
