I just put in my new lamp and the green light and fan go out after I touch the power on button. The red lamp light stays on, then the green light comes on and the whole process starts over again. Why is this happening!!! Someone out there must know a solution?

I have the exact problem. I have been using a portable fan next to the projector to keep it cooler it allows me to use the projector for work. I know that this is not the "fix" but it helps. If someone has the solution, I would like to fix the projector.

SOURCE: how to check lamp hours on eiki lc - x50m

unfortunately, you'll only get a message that the lamp needs replacing. once you replace it, you'll have to go into the settings to reset the timer. it doesn't have a counter that you can read.

SOURCE: Eiki lc-nb3s projector... fan comes on but no lamp

Please check on of these solutions :

1:Remove the lamp from the projector. Ensure that it has no cracks, discoloration or "smoky" appearance.

2:Try removing and reseating the lamp, or to try another lamp.

3:Reset your lamp timer. Most projectors have no way of knowing if you physically have replaced your lamp. They rely on the user resetting the lamp timer

4:Pull the lamp back out of the unit, give is a brisk shake and reseat the lamp. Occasionally there is some buildup on the lamp contacts or filament during manufacturing.

5:Are the input and output vents blocked or obstructed in any way?

6:Are the filters dirty or clogged? Most manufacturers will recommend filter cleaning on a monthly basis depending on usage

7:Remove any extension cords, power strips and/or surge suppressors. Many current model projectors will not even try to ignite the lamp if they detect drops or fluctuation in voltage supplied to the unit. This is a safety feature to reduce stress on the lamp.

My church has an EIKI LC-X986 projector that turns on for about 2 seconds then shuts down. The lamp is brand new and the filters are clean. I know the signal is working as I can see it for those 2...

Have a close look at the fan and check if there is a make and model number on it.
If you cant see anything, unscrew the fan and check on the hidden sides.
see what voltage it is. ie 12v dc or 24v dc

Ring the EIKI agent and ask them how much for a replacement rear fan, the EIKI part number, and also if they can supply the manufacturer of it and their part number.

Check that the fan connector is OK, and the socket where it plugs in.

Check that the fan turns freely.

report back what you find

How can you view the amount of bulb hours for an Eiki LC-986?

The manual for your projector is found here:

My assumption since it is not specifically stated on the location of the counter is it should be located close to the option to reset the counter. I would start here and look around above and below this option.

According to pg 39 the steps to reset the counter are the following:

Turn projector on, press MENU button and ON-SCREEN MENU will appear. Press POINT LEFT/RIGHT button(s) to

move a red frame pointer to SETTING Menu icon (refer to page 37).

Press POINT DOWN button to move a red frame pointer to "Lamp counter reset" and then press SELECT button.
Message "Lamp replace counter reset?" is displayed. Move pointer to [Yes] and then press SELECT button.

I have the Eike LC-X986 projector and it keeps turning off every 20 minutes. Can't figure out what's wrong. Please help.

if the time is always about the same, then blocked air filters should be cleaned. if there is no sufficient air inflow, temperature inside will become above maximum rating and PJ will shut down.

At the side of the carrying handle you can pull out two grey plastic frames, these are the air filters, If just dry dust, clean with air or vacuum cleaner. If smoke/ oil clean with alcohol and put them back.
This model has no filter hours counter, so no need to reset

Bulb won't work

If you are sure that you installed the new bulb correctly , then I recommend that you reset your projector . Some projectors don't realize that you changed the bulb physically until you reset them .
