On the front down bottom there is a fake button hole cap pull it out and remove screw one on each side and you might have to remove back to undo 2 more screws inside TV. The screen/focus Block is behind it 3 controls on top 3 on bottom R-G-B Check Video IC on CRT board of Red Tube/ First try adjusting Red screen drive control .Let me know if need any help.

My screen has blue and red lines across it. Now the red lines are becoming stronger and the screen flashes red until it turns off. how do i fix this?

This is for if the lines are thin and in the form of an arc across the screen.

You need to turn down the screen voltage for the blue and red CRT. I believe the access is through the front on that model.

1) Remove the front grill
2) There should be access panel you need to remove once you remove the front grill. This is where the screen voltage adjustment is located
3) Look for a small black box with six knobs on it. One row is for "Focus" and one row is for "screen". It will be marked, but probably need a flashlight to see which row it is. There will be a "R", "G" and "B" next to each knob to represent Red, Green Blue respectively.

4) Careful with the access panel removed, you are only inches away from very dangerous voltages.
5) slowly turn the R or B knob counterclockwise until the lines on the screen disappear.
Keep your hands away from everything else and only use one hand near the tv. put the other hand behind your back.

6) Once corrected, replace the panel and put the grill cover back on.

How did I correct blue and red lines curved across a blank screen of my KP-57WV600 SONY Projection TV?

This is for if the lines are thin and arc.

You need to turn down the screen voltage for the blue and red CRT. I don't remember if the focus block is in the front or in the back of the tv on this model. Most projections have them in the front.

You could check the back access panel and look for a black box with six knobs as descibed in step 3 below. This is what you are looking for.

follow the steps below if it is located in the front:

1) Remove the front grill
2) There should be access panel you need to remove once you remove the front grill. This is where the screen voltage adjustment is located
3) Look for a small black box with six knobs on it. One row is for "Focus" and one row is for "screen". It will be marked, but probably need a flashlight to see which row it is. There will be a "R", "G" and "B" next to each knob to represent Red, Green Blue respectively.

5) slowly turn the R or B knob counterclockwise until the lines on the screen disappear.
Keep your hands away from everything else and only use one hand near the tv. put the other hand behind your back.

6) Once corrected, replace the panel and put the grill cover back on.

Faint red curved lines on Sony KP 51ws500.Converged = no work???

Hi There!
This sounds like a typical problem related to a older CRT.
If you remove the front cover of the tv, you can then remove a wood panel. Behind this panel you will see a block (high voltage splitter) it will have 6 "knobs" on it, 3 will say focus, 3 will say screen.
They will also be labeled R - G - B
Put the tv on a blank input so you can see the lines clearly on a black screen  - Find the knob for red, and SLIGHTLY turn it down until the red lines disappear.

Red screen with thin red lines

That model has been known for the CRts being bad. If the lines are kind of running on an angle and slightly arched that could either be the red CRT or the Red CRT drive circuit board. If you remove the front speaker grille and access panel you will see a small control block with 6 dials on it, and 3 dials will have screen or G2 stamped on the box. Adjust the red down a little and see if that has any effect on the red lines. then let me know

Green lines appear on the screen when dark picture is shown. Others have the same problem but can not figure out how to remove the front cover. Please help us

The front panel normally has some screws that need to be removed from the inside of the set. You need to remove the back cover first and you should see the screws. Then the panel pops off. Good Luck

Yes you have bad green and red crt but with an adjustment you can still use it. remove the front panel and you'll see the focus pack (it;s a black piece with 6 rotating knobs on it. Adjust clock otherwise the red and green screen (the bottom line knobs) till the lines has gone. The better way to check it is to adujt in video input with no signal, just black screen.

Very fine red lines across srceen

It is an adjustment, but it's an adjustment you may not want to do. It's the red screen control. It's located behind the front panel so the entire front panel has to be removed in order to access it-which will expose you to hazardous voltages. if you like, I can post detailed instructions on how to get that front panel off, it's kinda tricky.
