The first thing I'd do is contact the manufacturer of the old oven and ask if they have a current "drop-in" replacement model to replace your old one's model number.

Otherwise, you'll have to visit various manufacturer Web sites and dealers to check out their specifications.

I have the same model and the instructions at this site on how to remove it will help you. The owner's manual is useless. Good luck!

I want to replace an old microwave from 1988: GE Model# JVM130001. What microwave will fit in that space?

Laura, most any over the range microwave should fit that space. It may hang a little below your height but that should not be a problem.

GE Customer Service is here. They may be able to tell you if there is a "drop-in" replacement available for your model.

Otherwise, you'll have to take down the old bracket then mount another model in the space.

#mmv4203dw installation, the old one is out

The new microwave oven dimensions are 29 7/8" wide, with a depth of 15 1/2" and a height of 16 15/16". These measurements are listed on page 3 of your installation manual. If you do not have an installation manual, you can go to managemylife.com and type in the model number you provided under the "Manuals" link. The owner's and installation manuals are both listed in .pdf (Adobe) format that you can download or print for FREE.

So...to answer your initial question, "Yes", this model microwave oven will fit in the space that your old one previously occupied.

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.
