Question about Refrigerators

1 Answer

Two (2) Franklin chef outdoor beverage coolers - plugged them in August 2006, worked great until last month - they both began having trouble holding temperature or really cooling at all. I unplugged them both for a few days, then tried again with no luck. They will not cool at all??

Open all the unit and dry the main control board using a dryer.

The problem you are facing is just because of the moisture going inside the main board circuitry.

I'm looking for keys for a Franklin Industres FBC 360D. Can you point me where I can buy them? Thanks, Nick

Hi Nick

Try this link the guys should be able to supply the spares, but you may have to buy locks and keys unless you have the key numbers, the numbers are sometimes on the face of the lock in tiny figures, but I can't promise they will be there

One side of the cooler refrigeration coated coils

Have you tried this http://www.franklinchef.com/service_call.html for a service. With the unit being this new, it's under warranty. Your sealed system is warrantied for 5 years. This is why you are having trouble finding someone to work on it plus Franklin Ind. does not want to pay the service company when they are sent the bill. Where are you located. If your close, i'll see what I can do about repairing it for you. Expect to have to pay for service from anyone due to the service company having so much trouble getting paid themselves. Although you should be reimbursed after Franklin pays.

This was copied from Franklin Ind. web sight and this is why no one wants to repair their equipment.

Refrigeration coils rusted and leaking

Between the cost of the coil, the refrigerant, and the labor, I would say you would probably be paying more than you paid for the cooler ($500). Hope this helps

Everstar Beverage/Wine Cooler HDBC36ID not cooling

I returned our unit to Home Depot with relative ease... I think they were all aware there is a problem with these units.

They refunded the full purchase price (even though I was well past the 12-month warranty period). I put the money toward a GE Profile unit that's a little bigger - more expensive, yes; but it works, priceless!
