Think question cut off. Need to know how to remove "screw" in back to clean burrs. It is not a phillips head, maybe rivet.

there are a number of 'newer' drive configurations for modern fasteners specifically designed to limit consumers from doing their own servicing. Take the unit to your local tool dealer and get the proper tool. If it actually is a rivet, it will need to be drilled out and then replaced with a new one.

Reach/remove pin.

Patricia, I am not sure which model you have old or new. I have the old one built in the 30's. I had to replace the shear pin and the carbon brushes for the motor. I took the bottom off which has a ball bearing resting loosely in a cavity in the bottom plate. Don't lose it. Now the brushes I found at an ace hardware. Take the old ones to compare. I think there was a bracket holding the brushes and rotor in. Once the rotor was out you could get the brushes out. Putting the brushes in required figuring out how to keep the brushes retracted. I used a piece of paper and used it hold them back while sliding in the rotor. Once in pull the paper out.
Now the shear pin needs to be in to prevent damage to the grinder in case what you are grinding has something too hard to grind like a small rock, I think if you push up on the rotor when the bottom plate is off or pulling up on the shaft it might give enough clearance to put the shear pin in. It sits very close to the bottom of the shaft so it can be fun trying to line it up. I used needle nose pliers to hold the pin just right while pulling up on the shaft. I bought the shear pin off of ebay

Coffee grinder wont start

Its been a while since i worked on a grind master so have a little patience with me. First, if the breaker went then there might be something blocking the burr chamber like a rock or screw or other obstruction. Second I would check the micro switch for the bag holder if there is one on your model using an ohms meter.

With the dial turned to "Turkish" I still get a very course grind. How to adjust/fix?

On the adjusting knob there are 2 set screws (outside of the center) and an adjustment screw (the one in the middle). First make sure the LARGE screws on the side of the SELECTOR plate are tight. Start with the selector on Turkish, with the grinder OFF loosen the set screws about one full turn each. Leaving the selector on Turkish turn the grinder on and gradually VERY SLOWLY turn the center screw clockwise. Eventually you will hear the burrs inside touching. After they touch back of the center screw about 1/8 of a turn. Tighten the SET SCREWS tight as they may allow the grinder to go out of adjustment if not tight. Test the grind with very little coffee and throw those grounds out. Then grind and brew! If these grinders are adjusted too fine you may have problems with the grinds not falling and may back up.

How do i change the burrs on grindmaster 875

Remove the screws on the knob with the grind setting, that pulls out and gives you access to the burrs.

Replacement part (exit chute)

I have not heard of a solution yet.... but I did download the manuals for the machine and have the parts numbers from different models which MIGHT be interchangeable.... I only paid $150 for the machine, so I am loath to spend too much more to solve my problem.
Might go on ebay...

Apparently, you unplug the unit, dump any beans out of the supply hopper, then rotate the burr intake module in the bottom of the supply hopper counterclockwise. You can then pull it out, and brush it out. You also brush out the other half of the burr unit; don't put water or anything in it, you'll kill your grinder. You can, in theory, wash the removable module, but if you do, be sure it's ABSOLUTELY dry before you put it back together.

  1. replacement of burrs after 500 kg grinded coffe
  2. if upper burr holder and the body of grinder does not hold stabile, teflon aplying does not help too much, it is only temporary solution. new upper bur holder would do better.
  3. before inserting upper burr holder you should check if lower burr is rotating syncronized, you should take a bit chalk and sof touch while burr rotates. after that you stop grinder and look do you have circle with same thiknes, that would give you idea where is the problem, if it is in lower burr.

There are a series of gears between the motor and the shaft. Replacement parts are avaialble ad cafeparts.com under ascaso ibertal grinders. You will need to take the grinder apart to find the problem.

Love your 'handle'!

I'm thinking that there is something in the burr in the unit. Empty the unit and remove the burr. Usually, this is done with a counterclockwise turn. Note how hard it may be to turn...you'll have to reverse this when you put it together. Now, clean out any coffee debris you find. Then, turn the unit over and tap it on a firm surface covered with newspaper. Reassemble and return to service.
