The owner reloaded his Windows Vista on this machine and now the wireless doesn't work. I have it online (wired of course) and have downloaded all the patches and drivers I can find but it still won't attempt to connect. I am not sure which way the switch on the front should be set but no matter what I try I can never get a signal. The machine says ''this computer does not have a wireless network adapter installed and configured'' I know it has built-in wireless and I have loaded the drivers and device manager does not show any issues...
Try to get the service manual.
Open your laptop (of course you'll have to turn it off, take the battery out, before doing anything in there) locate the wireless card and unplug it. Start check the device manager for any change.
plug it back and check again the D. M. If still nothing try with XP, maybe it's not compatible with vista (which is uncertain)
then you might replace the card.
