I am not sure how your onboard gfx card is still working.  Do you still have a monitor plugged into it?  Is the AGP gfx card you installed working properly? and do you have a monitor hooked up to the AGP card? thx :)

  • Tim Hallman May 11, 2010

Ok, what do you mean by split monitor?  Most integrated cards do not support multi monitors, so it sounds like your gfx card is working properly.  What exactly is the problem?  Do you have two monitors?

Ok, try this.  Uninstall the PCI gfx card drivers and remove the card.  Reboot.  Go to your Device Manager and disable the integrated card, do not worry about uninstalling it. Shutdown the PC, and then insert the PCI card. Also, make sure in the BIOS that you have integrated gfx disabled.  Then if you can boot with monitor plugged into the PCI card you should be able to reinstall the drivers for that card, and everything should work.  If not, please let me know.  Also, if you downloaded the drivers for the PCI card, try downloading them again as it's possible your download was corrupted.

I'm sorry, I meant remove the PCI card after shutting down the PC, then reboot.

  • Tim Hallman Jan 01, 2009

It would normally be under integrated vga or graphics etc.  If you cannot find the option in your BIOS, that is OK.  You can tell me which motherboard you have?

  • Tim Hallman Jan 01, 2009

Please check your msn from ingenuitylabs :)

  • Tim Hallman Jan 01, 2009

Click HERE download, unzip, and install this program.  It is cpuid, and will give you your motherboard information.  Obviously you will need to run it from the pc with the motherboard you need info. on.

  • Tim Hallman Jan 01, 2009

Ok, go ahead and try the solution I originally posted, and let me know if that works. thx :)

  • Tim Hallman Jan 01, 2009

Ok, I do have other solutions, but I must first research your mobo and card a little further.  I will post another solution later this evening.  Thanks for your patience.

I have an ati radeon ed6600 and i cant find any drivers for it can u help me plzzz..... :)

I've never seen a Radeon "ed6600" videochip, and can't find one listed ANYWHERE, so I suspect you've misidentified your GPU. You MIGHT have a Radeon HD6600M GPU; you can download the drivers for it here:

http://www.amd.com/us/products/notebook/graphics/amd-radeon-6000m/Pages/amd-radeon-6000m-series.aspx

Open that page, and click on "Find a Driver" in the upper-right corner of the webpage.

The "Component Category" for your video card is "Notebook Graphics"

The "Product Line" is "Radeon HD Series"

The "Product Model" is "Radeon HD 6xxxM Series"

Lastly, choose the operating system you're using; Win7 32-bit, Win7 64-bit, Vista 32-bit, Vista 64-bit, or Win XP 32-bit. Select your operating system, then click the green "View Results" button.

The next page that opens will provide a direct link where you can download the drivers for your Radeon videocard. BE SURE to read the Release Notes and the Installation Instructions BEFORE you begin the driver installation.

Keep in mind that Windows must reboot when changing drivers, so DO NOT try to delay the process. Windows deletes a LOT of old files during the reboot so that they won't conflict with the new driver files being installed. If you delay or interrupt the process, you could have an unbootable mess on your hands.

Best of luck with this; let us know how it turns out.

Ati radeon graphics

Um, well, I think you'll get them at ATi's website. If you have the card pre-installed in the computer when it was out of the box, then you can even find the drivers on the manufacturer's website, along with those of all your devices that came with it.
