use your cd to install the drivers onto your computer. Connect camera via usb and use the pixel software that came with your camera or you can use Windows Movie Maker to download your recordings.

To transfer video you need to use firewire, not usb. If you use firewire to connect, set the camera to the 'play' icon and then open up a capture program (ie, movie maker) you should be able to just record/capture from there. Good luck!

Hey, I need to purchase a viewcam Z battery for my Vl-Z100 camcorder. I live in Grafton NSW and not one of the electrical stores have been any help. Any idesa would be appreciated. Thankyou

Yes, you can purchase a replacement battery for the VL-Z1 camcorder here: http://www.zbattery.com/Lenmar-replacement-battery-for-the-Sharp-BT-L226U

Our policy, listed below, would not allow for us to send a single battery to Australia. So if you want only 1 battery you would have to find a seller in Australia that sells a similar battery, or if you have a friend in the US we would send it to them and they would send it to you.

Here is our policy for international orders taken from our shipping and handling policies page (http://www.zbattery.com/Shipping-Handling-Policy): INTERNATIONAL ORDERS
We have an order minimum of $150 for International orders. All International orders MUST be insured. We are not responsible for any brokerage, duties or taxes your country may charge you before releasing your order. We may require a wire transfer for International orders over $300. Wire transfer fees may apply. If you would like to order for International shipping, please contact us at 1-800-624-8681. Please provide your billing and shipping address and what you'd like to order. We will send you a credit card charge authorization form for you to fill out and return or we will send you the details for the wire transfer if your order is over $300 USD. We reserve the right to reject any International orders.

Thank you,

I want to transfer my videos taken on my Sharp

Hi,
You will need a firewire cable and a firewire port on your computer. If you don't have such a port then you can buy a firewire pci card.

You may need what's called a 'firewire' port, which was the transfer port of choice for most DV models of the time.

My contact at the local RadioShack advised me that a DV-to-USB cable might work to allow transfers since firewire isn't really supported these days. I've not tested it myself though. The cable should cost less than $20.00... and if you're careful with the packaging, you could always return it if it proves useless.

HOWEVER, this is what you may need to allow correct transfer from the cam to the laptop:

http://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-SBT-PCA4-Firewire-CardBus-Adapter/dp/B0007UY662/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1252477568&sr=8-7

Check, first, to make sure that the pc-end of the cable is, in fact, a firewire connector.

Suddenly my Sharp VL-Z100 can't record or play any of my cassettes! And after I finish to try to record something a red icon with an X inside appears on the screen. Anyona can help me please?

Clean up your head with the mini Dv head cleaner cassette. If still problem persists, give it to company personnal for repairing this problem, because this is the problem for the head. The head is the costly part in camcorder. So please give it to authorized person other than the local technician.
