I have error E005 that comes up on the copier every time I power it on. I looked it up and it said that that error message ment that the fixing cleaning belt has been taken up. That is, the fixing cleaning belt drive solenoid has been driven more than a specific number of times. I need to know what that means. Do I have to get a new solenoid? Is there a way to overide the error? and if I do need to replace the solenoid, where do I purchase. Thank you for you time and I look forward to your response. Sincerely, Brian Buynak Camp Director
There is nothing wrong with the solenoid. The fuse cleaning web is similar to a roll of paper towels. For each copy made the copier fires the solenoid, advancing the web roll slightly. You can override the error but that will damage the upper fuser roller since it won't be cleaned and lubed properly. You need to replace (or have replaced) the cleaning web and reset the web counter in service mode. I am not sure on that model but when you purchase the web, $15-20, they can tell you how to reset it. Good Luck.

I have a canon image runner 330s and lost the password and dept id#.
I was wondering if there was a way to reset the machine so i could put in a new password and dept id#.
Help ! I have the same error E005 on my ImageRunner 330s. I have replaced the web cleaning roller and I still get that error when I start the machine. It tells me to turn the main power off and on. I do that but nothing changes. I have not been able to reset the counter on the solenoid or reset the error message because the error message is on the same screen that I need to punch in the * to get to the programming and I can't get it to go away. I thought that maybe i needed to reinstall the web cleaning roller again and I did that but still the same error. I am stuck. Am I missing something? Any help would be appreciated.
