I bought Dogz 5 as a Christmas gift and have installed it on the PC which is running under Vista but the box states that it is compatible. The game works, but when the pet appears on screen it is very distorted and square. I've downloaded the latest Directx but so far no change.
Can anyone make any suggestions please?

Check that you are running in compatable mode. Since Windows 7 is so new not all programs run properly so you should have a link to run the program in a compatable stage. If not check and make sure your program is compatable with Windows 7. You may have to reinstall the program and you will probably get a message to install in a compatable mode. If you do make sure you install in that mode then the program should work. Windows 7 is like when they first came out with Windows Vista there are a few bugs that they are still working out and that is probably what is causing the problem.
Download Petza from sherlock software, search "Sherlock Software Petza". It makes it so you can make the babies born instantly. I have it on my petz game, and it works nicely. It also can neuter/uneuter your petz, trim family tree, change gender, send pet to door, and change the stats of your pet "Its Brain", this allows you to make them full/starving, baby/old, no fleas/fleas, not catnipped/catnipped, healthy/sick, ect.
Firstly, open a folder. You need to click on 'Organize' >>
'Folder and Search Options'. On here click on the 'view' tab, then
check the box for 'Show hidden files and folders'. Click OK on this.
Next go onto C: and click on your user name, then click on AppData.
In here, click on 'Local' >> 'VirtualStore' >> 'Program
Files' >> 'Ubi Soft' >> 'Studio Mythos' >> 'Petz 5'
>> 'Adopted Petz'.
Here is the file path if you need it:
